Building a YouTube Empire Brick By Brick

Report #22 Total views are at 179,819. The realtime views went up to 7,400+. The subs are at 1,313. I'm going to be doing a few posts on Reddit today and then doing some personal planning for where I want the channel to go next year. Doing the math is extremely fun as it's looking awesome, even if I'd do poorly. Which of course I'm aiming for high goals, so that's not going to happen. Planning out the rest of the videos for the week as well. I definitely want to get some other people involved in my videos to spice it up.

I'm really liking this journey so far and am following it very closely.

It seems you've grown your channel(s) primarily from Reddit traffic, and I was just wondering, how many Reddit accounts do you have/use to post to lots of sub-reddit's everyday? Also, do you bother to get VPS for each Reddit account, or do you just keep the same IP and everything and create accounts as you go?

The reason I ask is because in my experience, for every 9 replies, I can post one of my videos 1 time. This is so I don't get shadow-banned or whatever. However, I'd love to be able to post my videos to multiple sub-reddits through out the day.
I only have a couple accounts and I use the same IP and everything. I go by the 90/10 rule as well, so that helps protect me against bans. For the subreddits I can't post in for whatever reason (too hard to get to the frontpage, or too hard to get past the auto-mod) I'll probably do actual ad campaigns to still get the targeted viewers.

If you embed your videos on another site, do you still get paid for those views?

If they have to watch ads beforehand, yes. Meaning those who don't have adblocker, even if they're watching on another site still will have to pay

How are you making any cash at all , i see all this traffic but where the cash ?

You need to think of montize that traffic or use a product to get money .

Report #23 I'm planning my 2.5K subscriber video out. I'm doing an interesting giveaway. It cost me a fair penny or two, you could say that for sure. But it's also different than other giveaways where you ask for subs and likes and sharing the video. I want my subscribers to be more engaged and feel like they have some say in the channel. Also it'll help my channel grow potentially even more than the traditional giveaways. Hopefully I can reach that soon. Not worried though. Just wondering where to invest my money in. I found a company called Virool today.. it made me laugh. $100K for 1M views! WOW, WHAT A DEAL! If you bid low though, you can get 1M views for the nice price of only $50K!

I remember going to a networking event with 50 year old CEOs and it was funny when some marketing guy came over to me and was stunned that I could get 50K views for a few grand. Sure I could. If I have a proper ad to promote, I can use Reddit and other targeted ads no problem. I just need one good video and a small chunk of change and we're good to go.

Just saying, if I can achieve 100K subs within a few months.. there's no way I wouldn't aim for 10M subs by the end of next year. Of course I wouldn't be able to do that myself. But with a proper team, I'll be in touch with all the big YouTubers out there. I want to collab as much as possible. Even Gary V said it himself, when you're starting out small.. even a collab with a 100 sub channel could mean the world to you. And as you grow bigger, the power only increases with those.

I'm sometimes sad looking at where I am in life right now.. I could've had 10M subs without a doubt if I hadn't been greedy a few years ago. Even without the VIne channels, my gaming channel was on a roll. But then I remember, live life without regrets. There's a reason why I had to fail so many times. Or at least, I'm giving those moments meaning. I've got a lot of experience, and it'll help me with upcoming challenges. It's funny when I look at one of my inspirations for YouTube.. it wasn't Steve Jobs or Bill Gates or Andrew Carnegie who inspired me to start working. I mean I always had those people in mind, I have long lists of the Greats... but sometimes you must start with a small step. And I always looked up to Hutch, Seananners, xJawz, the whole of Machinima really, and even my old gaming buddy. Back in 2008 and 2009 I really liked what was going on. And xJawz being able to afford a $60K Merc and having an interesting.. err girlfriend in the adult entertainment industry was inspiring haha. It's fascinating to look at his channel now. I wonder what's going through Sam's mind. I always sided with the YouTubers who were going through tough times. I even support Sam Pepper and VeeTwoEye. You can see the pain in their eyes sometimes. It's tough being famous and going through drug and sexual scandals. Some aren't able to handle it. And I wonder if a younger version of myself would've been able to do it as well.

But anyways, back to domination mode. We're right where I want to be. 100K here we come.

Wow and I forgot to add the most important details lol. Here they are: 1,370 subscribers, 183,301 total views, and 7,700 realtime views.

Well at the moment I have a job where I'm supposed to be running a gaming channel. That's paying for my life right now. Hopefully in 2 months I'll be able to live off of Adsense alone with my personal channel. I like the gaming channel and all, but maybe I'll sell my share in it or something like that to fully focus on this.

With the personal, I'm making money through adsense. It's low paying ads because of my niche and some videos being demonetized, but I knew this going into it. Probably at 100K I'll be able to support myself just fine. To add to that, I'll probably move somewhere really cheap for a little bit (still planning my travels) to save even more money. At 25K and 50K I'm going to have a few different things. I can't decide which one, but I'll do Patreon for one of those along with other donations. That'll help increase video quality and marketing. I'll hire a camera person probably at 50K who can also do editing and photoshop to boost the quality even more. At 50K I'll do affiliate sales with my buddy who owns some awesome hats that'll fit in PERFECTLY with my niche. They're insane quality and will sell like hotcakes. I'll see how that goes and then I'll sell my own clothing later on, but that'll just be a limited edition thing for fun. I'll also probably do consulting for companies and people since I'm already getting a lot of requests for help. To add to that I'll probably start selling my own products (this is a secret for now) at 100K with a new company that I'm making. I have a few investors lined up for that. And finally as I grow bigger and bigger I'll do sponsorships, in-video ads, and promotions. The bigger you grow, the more money companies are willing to throw at you. Even though I've only got a couple grand in the bank right now (and in debt about $1K which I'll pay back once I'm past 10K probably, no rush on that loan), I'm not worried one bit. Well, I am.. but it's about WHEN I'll be rich. Not IF haha. I've got this all planned out much better than my previous channel ventures. Once you do this enough times, you just know.

To monetize right now FULLY would be a disaster. I have very engaged subs who are loyal and spamming right now would hurt me long term. I'm not into short term gratification anymore. And also next year, once I have 1M-10M subs.. there's a big step I'll take. That's also a secret for now ;)

Thx. Do you know how long does the video needs to play for the view to count? And how long does the ad need to play to be paid for the ad?

Good luck and god bless

Report #24 We're at 187,328 total views, 7,800+ realtime views and 1,412 subscribers. I received a rather funny business email today, the CEO of a nootropics company wants to send me some free product. And promote my video even further maybe.. Why? He found my video hilarious. I made fun of him and called his company a scam haha. Ah, gotta love it. Sure, I'll take free stuff. Why not? I'll give it a test.

I keep getting more and more offers from people who want my help with their channels. They're even willing to pay good money. I definitely do enjoy this, as it'll keep growing exponentially soon ;)

I think a view will count as long as the video loads and plays for at least a second. I mean it is an impression after all, but if it bounces immediately then it'll severely skew the watch time which will therefore lower the ranking and advertising CPM. And again, same thing with the ads. If it is able to load and begins playing, it will count. The longer a viewer stays on, the more money.

Report #25 1,448 subscribers, 7K realtime views, 191,651 total views and 215 unsubs. The record is 11 subscribers lost in one day. I had this happen twice, and this recently happened on the 11th. I just lost a sub while posting this actually, so it would've been 1,449. I'm not quite sure why I lost so many subs that day, as my video of the day was rated pretty nicely and I didn't really promote all that hard either.

It is what it is though. I find it funny how YT allows some of my "bad" videos to be monetized but demonetizes a perfectly clean video that had some pretty good tags. I'm not quite sure how SFW tags, description and title still get demonetized, I mean it was one of my business videos.. so that probably should've gotten a good CPM. Oh well, it's random sometimes. Some of my demonetized videos are monetized the next day and it just cycles. It's strange.

I'm going to be spending more time working on the gaming channel right now. I'm a little upset that reddit marketing didn't really work out last night.. wanted to pump like $50 into it. I was supposed to have gotten approved for my reddit ad, still no response and it's been a couple of days now. I tried posting in a subreddit that has over 110K followers but none of my accounts were able to successfully get a post to show up.. which is strange considering they do allow YT videos and I don't think I posted more than once in that subreddit throughout my entire life. To add to the mystery, there's only 3 mods and 2 of them haven't posted anything on reddit in over 4-5 weeks.. And the other mod is a bit more active but.. I don't know what's up over there. I did send a message to the mod team but it might take some time. And lastly another service I used went down, but oh well. Upvote.club hasn't been up for the past day so.. hopefully that gets fixed soon. I was excited to start pumping a lot more into that. At least my bank account's growing nicely so I'm not worried. I just wish there would be more action going on right now but I guess December will be the most exciting month then.

Report #26 1,472 subs, 194,717 total views and 6,300 realtime. My most viewed video kind of is declining but I'm sure it might get another boost or two in the near future. I don't want to promote it though because I'd rather it goes on its own for now. I'd rather promote other videos to get to its place and hopefully do better. I'm going to retry with Reddit today and I'm looking for maybe some new subreddits I haven't discovered yet. I'm getting to a point where I'm trying to respond to most comments (can't to all, YouTube only shows the ones that aren't responses, I don't have time to look through all 100+ videos daily for new responses lol) and hopefully I can continue doing so until like at least 50K, if not more.

Happy that Upvote.club is working again ;)

What type of videos do you upload?
Fake hacks, gameplay or something else?

Report #27 Nearly forgot to post today, kind of hectic. 1,511 subscribers. Less than 1K away from doing an awesome giveaway, and I got an amazing video edit idea today. I can't wait to put it into action, hopefully before the month is up. I've already contacted some higher end editors and hopefully this can blow people away. Definitely want this to be different than my vlogs.

It's my personal channel, so vlogs at the moment and sometimes crazy clips. In the future it'll just be all out insanity. Anything from skydiving with celebs to blowing up buildings to crazy parties to whatever else is going on. Already I've experienced so much, and the more money one will have, the more fun life can get ;)

I'm done uploading other people's content. I mean my gaming channel does just that.. but that's kind of different. That's just short term really to pay the investors that are paying me right now. I might sell my share or something in the future, but my personal needs to be longterm. More efforts equals more money in the future

Be careful doing giveaways. A lot of people will sub to you only for the giveaways and unsub right after. They also tend to get upset and go disliking all your videos.
