BREAKING: Ebay has dumped Paypal

Hopefully all the major marketplaces, clients, businesses and the entire world drop Paypal. I'm waiting for that day to come.

careful what you wish for, I heard with ebay managed payments they are much more strict than paypal, and suspend, then permanently hold your funds.
Can I ask where you have heard this from?

People I know who are using this have said how much better it is with out PayPal. Only problem they have is PayPal was instant in releasing funds eBay hold for a couple of days.

This actually makes a lot of sense.

PayPal acted as a safety net for eBay. Whenever PayPal isn't able to recoup the funds from a seller in case of a refund, it's their loss, not eBay's (at least since they are separate companies). Now with cutting PayPal out on the seller side, eBay is on their own, whatever funds eBay isn't able to recover, it will be their loss, because they will owe that money to PayPal to compensate the wronged buyers. They need to be strict, unless sellers will be required to add a card to the account, so eBay can charge it, if shit happens. After a seller received the funds to his/her bank account, eBay can't get it back or at least it's a lot harder to do than charging a card.

End of road for PP??
Might be a start honestly. Now smaller marketplaces should follow the trend and realize that they'll have better margins if they cut PP out. Grailed, etsy, gumroad, stockx etc. these are all huge companies who rely heavily on PP.

Although I do know in the US it's hard to cut out PP. When I ran my ecom stores back in the day, I would increase CVR by 0.5-1% just by adding PayPal. That tells you something...

PayPal is dead in India. We can't use our PayPal balance to purchase and they want us to use our card so they can also earn with forex conversion.

I wish we can also have an account in USD so all these charges can be saved.

eBay is already dead here.
Just started using Paypal or what? It has always been like this with Paypal in India. You don't have a paypal balance in India as paypal auto withdraws the money to your bank account. This is because a company needs a banking license in India to hold someone's funds and they were not willing to get involved in the bureaucracy to get a banking license and other miles long paper trail that comes with it, so they chose the easy way out.

Paypal even stopped it's payment solutions within India as it didn't make sense for someone to use them when there are better payment solutions within India.

I just wish there was a big competitor to Paypal. It's honestly dog shit

They have definitely made it difficult at times, that for sure.

Adyen process the payments for eBay not actually eBay itself.
eBay would never do business where they could lose money. I guess the payments get processed and sits in eBay accounts for a day or so that’s where they make extra money.
A lot of the time it wasn’t the eBay accounts that got blocked it was their PayPal account limited or blocked permanently. That why people used stealth eBay/PayPal.

Dodgy dealings? You must be on a different site. Ebay will side with the buyer no matter what. They outright rob sellers all the time.

I'm glad you're in favor of more of that. Just like when Amazon lowered commission rates.
i can tell uve never used paypal before, because... saying "Ebay will side with the buyer no matter what. They outright rob sellers all the time." ... IS LITERALLY WHAT PAYPAL HAS BEEN DOING FOR DECADES

I have never had a problem with PayPals. The problem is people don’t know how to manage stealths. They setup a vcc and some info and then start transferring money through it. PayPal is a shit company, but eBay Payments will be worse if you’re a serious seller.

It’s a good move for buyers, but sucks for sellers. I assume you’ve also never been a big seller on eBay.

i still have a valid paypal account... meaning that i didnt sell much on ebay and too scared these days for fear of refund requests lol

you will get the same amount of $/€ in return, but in BTC, just my opinion
If that's the case, ebay will simply stack sats as btc keeps growing.

The problem will be when we are on a bear market and ebay will have to refund more btc lol

Hmmmm...

This is bad news for most eBay sellers. The rates stay the same, but they cut PayPal out. No more multi accounts. If you’re banned from eBay, they have your SSN. Payments don’t arrive in your PayPal instantly.

This is a prime example of Social Engineering and why YOU/WE must establish our own platforms.

These MAJOR companies want absolute control, and I adamantly refuse to play by their rules.

Yep..remember their goal is to cut you out. Amazon finds best selling products, makes the same, and makes it Amazon branded, lowers commission rates when they got big enough. Google wants to cut out PPC marketers and SEO.

There’s only a few groups of people who own most of the big corporations globally.

The thing I don't get, is why paypal (or almost all the other payment) will take additional fees for international payments. There is no reason, take few cents, ok (why not), but +1.5%, why ?
Only for that, I want to sell in crypto

There's a great article out there about a business that grew and grew in the US through Amazon, then the company in China stopped producing for them.
The reason was Amazon targetted his product as being super popular, went to the manufacturers under the Amazon brand, bought the same product under their name, and started selling at under his price, so he couldn't compete.

After a while, he dropped his prices to cost, so Amazon closed his FBS and seller accounts.
