I don't have a monetized website but what do you think if I try your method for my website that is 2-years old, PR1, concentrated in local services. Already ranking #1 for few keywords locally? Would be great if i can rank for more KW and hoping also to higher my PR.

to out rank a 5 year old site with 50 links to it, should i find sites that have at least 7 years old? but is that possible ? having sites that have been sitting around for 7 years?

also wondering if it still works. I am in the middle of rebranding my company and we are going for a new name and so new domain as well.
My old domain is 3 years old has a PR3 (Domain Authority of 49 and Page Authority of 58 in opensiteexplorer) and thousands of backlinks to it.

So if I read this thread correctly I can just 301 redirect my old domain (maybe I don't even need a 1000 word article for this site, because this aged domain stays exactly as it is, right) to the new domain now and this should help my new domain to gain some trust and authority. It should also help to pass some link juice to the new domain.

The question is, are penalties also passed through to the new site and would it be better to 301 redirect each individual page of the old domain to the corresponding new page on the new domain, because some of the old portfolio items are also be on the new domain and have backlinks on the old domain. If I just 301 redirect the whole domain then the link juice is only passed to the new home page. When I redirect each individual page then it passes the juice to some of the new inner pages as well which should help to rank better, or am I wrong here.

And it also should help if someone else still builds backlinks to www.OldDomain.com/innerpage1 to pass this new link juice to www.NewDomain.com/innerpage1 as well.

Would be cool if someone who actually tried the method can answer these questions or help me out here.

How long i should keep this redirecting? I have an old site with 9 mounts more webhosting on godaddy. I don't want to renew it at the end. I may even will sell it end of 9 mounts.

ALN was nuked by Google updates. It's gone. I've read on the forum where people are building their own private blog networks. And by private, I mean for their own individual use.

I don't know how to do it yet but want to learn. If anyone knows a good thread here on BHW or is willing to PM some info on how its done, I'd appreciate it.

Lol Because of this Guide i have bought for 8$ a buyout old Domain. I had installed Wordpress and left it 4 mounts because i was too much busy. Today i have decided to 301 redirect my old city.
Heh but the oldsite became PR3 while i was away. Luckly it had PR6,4,3 a few Backlinks There wasn't even any content on it. I will not redirect and use it for another project.

Going by what little I have picked up from being on this site. Say for example Technology blogs. Then you sub-specialize. Technology reviews, Technology news and so on. Do this for your niche or keyword. Submit those blogs to directories and relevant forums. It is also important to make helpful forum posts and try to stay an active member. Then create the mesh between blogs and forum posts using twitter and facebook. Throw in a few press releases if you manage to land an interview with anyone of importance, use LinkedIn and so on.

You should get the idea. The big G wants to see an authoritative source of information. It also seems logical to help with page rank if you get site visitor participation. You know the kind, polls and other such things.

That would be great way to rank pages. Thank you for share.
