Do individual bloggers even have chance at it ? I see search engine results on first page being dominated by big companies and news websites.I don't know about death but I surely can see that it is about 80-90% down from what it used to be a few years ago.

Books are a dying industry. Do some research about it and you will understand.IMO blogging will never die as long as the internet is a thing...
Did books die when blogs became a thing? or youtube or whatever? It surely may be affected a bit but no its not dead.
