Blogging for US market, .com or .us?

Hello everyone,

I need your comments on this...I have to start promotion for a website through multiple WordPress based blogging sites; business is purely for US based audience and people do search as "--services-- in Florida", "... in Oregon" etc... so having domains with .us extension would play a role in ranking higher on Google for local searches as compared to .com?

Not much. .us is sometimes better because you can find some decent keywords there, which are taken for .com.

.us would be harder to remember. .com is definatly sexier

What about authenticity of the domains? Are .com names more authentic than .us?
