Sometimes posting every day can do more harm than good to you. The web is filled with millions of tons of information that is being retweeted, reshared and reposted every minute. At the same time, finding a really high-quality resource is becoming harder with each new post.
Indeed, for the search optimization purposes you should update your resource regularly, but it doesn't mean it should be done every single day. Even most creative and talented writers can't write bestsellers every day. So, I would suggest you focus on content quality and see how often you can create a post you really like. If I were your reader, I would rather read one awesome article per week than 7 average articles during the same time.
The choice is yours, but it will affect your positioning and readers you attract.
As for the tech blogs, the idea is similar. But here I also want to add that you need to stay updated on the latest tech news, and since this industry is very active, you might want to post reviews, interviews and opinions more often. And again, it depends on what kind of audience you are aiming at.
