i intend to open a forum but i’m affraid that google is not so friendly with it. I heard from not so experienced sources that blog will be more SEO friendly. Is that true?

Everything is friendly as long as you have content. How would you generate content? You don't seem to have a plan as of now (that is my presumption). A forum can generate content on its own but it needs a lot of initial push and moderation. Can you do that?

I can do that. I already own an Facebook group. It’s the most active fb group from my country in my niche and i want to extend my existence on Google too. I do have an YouTube channel too. So I can send traffic from YouTube and Facebook to my forum/blog.

Yah, then a forum would be a better idea.

The benefit with forum is that of you are able to get users on the forum initially, it will then run on auto pilot. You will get content on the forum for free and google will also love your forum.

A forum is whereby a question/issue is posed, and visitors to the site can respond and air their views.

Articles and blogs are different in that they do not neccesarily involve feedback, and can really be classed together. An article is a piece of writing on a aprticular topic, and can also be called a blog, so in that sense they are the same.

Forum is another issue altogether as it requires you to make it such that people can contribute their comments- whether it be about your article/blog or another topic altogether of your or their choosing.

starting with a blog is definitely the best option for you. before you build a forum with enough members that will engage the forum, it's gonna take some years.

while on the other hand you can start a blog in less than an hour and start adding content to it.

I can drive traffic from my Facebook group and YouTube channel. I guess will not be so hard to populate it. As i said, i am the only one who is talking about this subject in my country and everything you type in on YouTube about the subject you will get one of my 50+ videos.

Blog and forum cannot be compared to each other. And it has nothing to do with google-friendly.
For the forum its all about having a community.
Opening a great 'forum' website without active people there is as good as a blog with 0 posts.
