I haven't sites for france yet, but few questions:
- best & cheap .FR domain registrar (free DNS, preferrably also WHOIS guard/protection, safe and cheap)?
- best affiliate network to work with in France?

I use Internetbs.net, 5?20 for the .fr with private whois etc...
Thanks a lot! Even the .be/.com/.net are cheaper here
Also tnx for the tip on affiliate companies. I am already on Zanox and Affilinet. Netaffiliation wont take me (in the past 2 years I have tried many times already, since most my sites were promoting mobile entertainment or sweepstakes)

Great idea! I think BH should look into making more threads focus on certain markets.

The biggest problem I see with IM in France is that most people just dont buy. One of my sites is getting about 200-250 visitors daily and ranks in top 5 of its KW and makes just 10-20 euros a month of profit. I think to make decent money u have to get at least 1000 visitors a day as French are quite skeptical towards online shopping.
And there arent that many affiliate offers for France...

Yes, the main affiliation networks in France are Tradedoubler, CJ, Zanox et few others.
I agree too that French are skeptical about online shopping.
As you say we need more trafic, but the fact is also that both competition and SEO are less developed than in the US.
So, it is better to rank higher.
