Hi
any body can say, is that legal to mining in Indonesia by using bitminer?

should be. you are in Indonesia? Indonesia you just pay tax when you withdraw from exchange. 1%. saya dari Maumere Flores NTT :) You are mining successfully? but the electricity is good enough price? I think Malaysia is better because the electricity is cheaper, but I dont know the power costs in other part of Indonesia...Just Bali, Flores, Batam etc

You need to contact government officials for right information related to rules.

Indonesian government not yet release any regulations about mining. So its legal at this time.

I haven't come across anything that says that Bitcoin mining is illegal in Indonesia.

Crypto mining is of course banned in China, but I haven't come across an article or news item involving adverse Indonesian laws or regulations against this kind of activity.

But with that said, pay close attention to your energy costs because, depending on what kind of rig or mining system you set up, it might not be worth it.

Also, a lot of crypto mining depends on the price of the crypto you are mining.

Now, at $57,000 per bitcoin, I would think Bitcoin mining would be profitable enough to try, even if you’re in a fairly expensive energy market.

The downside is that you only have so much room to move.

There's a reason why former Chinese crypto miners from the Mainland have flocked to Texas in the United States.

Texas has some of the cheapest energy prices in all of the continental United States.

But given the recent changes in oil, lease, and pipeline arrangements and related regulations in the US, it's unclear how these regulatory changes will impact the overall costs of energy and by extension the ROI on crypto mining.

Still, whether you're thinking of crypto mining in Indonesia or the Philippines, or elsewhere, look at ROI.

Pay close attention to how much energy is per kilowatt-hour in your jurisdiction and see if you can turn a profit after factoring in a mining rig, hardware costs, and other factors.
