Bing Webmaster Tools is rolling out a preview release of the AI reporting section. It contains the following features:
  1. Intent - Group queries based on search intent like Informational, Commercial, Navigational, Learn and Solve, Research, Creation, Local, and more.
  2. Topics - Group queries into topic clusters.
  3. Citation Share - Percentage of citations attributed to your site for a query.
  4. Compare - Compare results from different time periods.
They are some cool features. I can say Bing is one step ahead of Google this time. These features help us understand how AI reads and understands content.

From my quick analysis of this feature and of my site with almost 80k citations as discussed here, these citations are basically how many times Copilot on Bing search has cited your website. So, if your web pages has been appearing on the page 1 of Bing search, chances are high for your site to be cited because bulk of Copilot's answers are from those sites on page 1.

The intent and citation data could make it much easier to see how AI is understanding content, not just how it's ranking.

That’s an important thing to watch. My recommendation is to start looking at these reports sooner rather than later as they can show you how AI systems are categorizing and surfacing your content. The Citation Share metric in particular could be a useful indicator of what pages are actually getting visibility in AI-generated results.
