Starting too many projects when I could be scaling up the projects that make me the most money.
 
My biggest mistake was when I was made my site and didn't know anything SEO and IM at all. It was 3 years back, when I was worked in Malta at sportbetting company. I made my site with a webdesign company for 400 eur and it was full of iframe for odds comparison,livescore etc. I put my banners and waited to see BIG money...That for 2 years -no money -10 -12 visitors per day. Then I joined DP and start reading about seo-linkbuilding etc. Last year I came here reading a lot before join.Also last year I had luck and an online posrtsbook bought my bannerspace for 400 eur for 2 months I bought a service here, other money I bought christmass presents for my girfriend and family.
Now my site is at 39 position for 40k exact searches only with fiverr gigs. I'm happy that I started doing link building and taking action.I hope for a bright future. Wish you all success.

My biggest mistake -
Buying a $9,000 established site of Flippa that was getting its revenue (PPV) from one source from a niche-related network. Just a few days after I bought it, the PPV network decided to only go with US traffic. My traffic was from the UK for 85%.. and worst of all, I got 95% of my traffic from NewsNow and they decided to ditch the site after a few months.

I recently sold the domain for $50 just to get rid of my 'nemesis'.
I have done a lot of stupid things in IM :D But I will never forget that one $15k day. Or the $5k EPN deposits.. OR the about $30k in lost commissions across networks due to being banned. It's a weird world to be in.

This is much easier said than done. I find it extremely hard to make money in IM and I'm having to go out and get a regular job (again) because for 2nd time, I still can't make money at it.

Really successful IM'ers on here post "helpful tips" all the time, but very few spend the time to tell you the details. They generally assume we have as much knowledge as them and leave a lot out, which leads to the newbies asking 5-10 pages of questions, asking all how to do each step. This wastes all of their time because it could take a week or two to get all of the questions answered.

I'm getting off topic. My main mistake was not having a regular job as my primary income and doing IM on the side. This was due to me not knowing that I would have to outsmart 500 geniuses working at google to rank #1 for keywords. I still haven't figured it out.
 
Procrastinating and looking for magic bullet methods.

Once I embarked on my own personal journey into IM, I regretted wasting so much time.

The funnest thing for me in IM is the rush and thrill it gives me.
 
Working so hard at my sites I burned out.

I had a very successful porn blog and celeb site that I was doing very well with. But I was waking up at 4 in the morning and working till 1 the next morning. Doing that for 3 years will kill you.

One day I woke up and saw a shitload of gray hairs on my head and a huge gut. Got on a scale and it read 330 pounds. When I started I was a former athlete at 195 lbs. I was depressed , my relationships were zero, I had lost contact with all my friends. That depressed me further.

Then one day I just turned off my computer and went for a walk.

I didn't turn it back on for 6 months. I let my hosting and domains expire. My income dried up.

Moved back home.

Moped around for a year then I was asked to help a friend coach his kids baseball team .

That snapped me out of my depression. Started working out, got more into coaching, no more adult stuff.

Now I feel I'm ready to get back into IM. But now I'm going to schedule everything out. And have a plan.

If you don't have a plan, you plan to fail.

(pushing all customers who paid me a lifetime rev-share to the merchant that paid me the most commission).
Merchant closed down, I lost all my punters. #fail
 
Always use a squeeze page, never send traffic direct to a CPA offer. I could have had a subscriber list of hundreds of thousands of diet and scholarship consumers...but I didn't use a squeeze page.
 
that i didnt start learning programming 6 years ago, but 1,5 years ago
 
1) Starting over at DP - wasted 2 years

2) Back in 2009, I made a nice amount of money from CPA (think social networking haha). It was the first real money I'd ever made online. A couple years back I'd screwed up pretty bad and cost my family a lot, a lot of money. I felt the least I could do was give them the money I had made. If I hadn't been lazy at the time, I could have taken that money and turned it into MUCH more money. But nope, I didn't. So here I am, 2 years later, and I started with just $1000. I've made a lot of progress, but I know if I had that money to invest, I would be unstoppable right now. But hey, we learn from our mistakes :)

3) Being afraid of investing. INVEST. Well, don't invest blindly. But as I sort of mentioned above, money can make you more money (obviously).
 
Being greed. Pigs get slaughtered and now I know it is true. Never become too greed - greed is NOT good ;)
 
Here's my mistake, i was able to rank in top3 the first website i built in my IM career, and started making $500/month with affiliate marketing, then one day that website dropped to 3 page of google so i leave it and made another one in another niche (made me $0), now with my SEO knowledge i boosted that website and i am actually making $800-$900 a month.
