Biggest Mistake in your IM Career

1. Reading GFY too much and getting distracted by nudity.
2. Staying in adult too long cause I thought that was where the real money was.

Most of the time it turns out that I learn more by just taking action (as long as it doesn't involve a lot of money which if you lose can set you back alot).

I've noticed the same thing. While research is a key component, you also have to actually perform the action in order to learn it.
It's only once the core skills become automatic that you can focus more on developing your own unique methods.

The problems inherent in learning blackhat im run deeper. A lot of the time I find that the information I'm after is simply not publicly available. It is to be expected considering the nature of the trade, and I am also guilty of keeping my own secrets (the few that I have..). But it does have the effect of making this job a very individual one; which makes it that much more challenging.

It essentially boils down to doing your own brainstorming and your own testing. Which does come with expense in terms of time, money and headaches.

As for biggest mistakes: Adware marketing. The only of my 3 (thus far) failed projects from which I didn't learn anything useful other than "there is no magical money-making button". ;)

My biggest mistake was to work with the shitty free domains and hosting. Most of the newbies use to do it and it is the main reason of failure in Internet Market.
So i will suggest you to invest a little money and stay away from them. In the end you have to loose them....

Depending on adsense. I concentrated solely on just one niche authority site, for i know it had the potential to make around 10k per month in two years. 20 months passed and i nearly touched 5k. but them bam... adsense got banned. Such a stupid thing to depend on adsense for your entire income. If i had built an authority site that could be very well monetized by lead gen, i would be making a killing right now. But all hope is not lost for me i guess. I have moved onto lead gen and still have hope. Fire within me has not been doused yet.

What is lead gen? Is it an aff program?
Thanks.

The biggest mistake I ever made, was not learning how to use scrapebox properly before I started to use it.

I ended up with a bunch of porn backlinks to my professional service website, and they are still there to this date. Hah.

How to avoid sb from getting porn links?

Thanks.

I done as u said even i tried data entry earning 1$ per hour.
I came to bhw now searching here how to earn it. May bhw helps me.

i wasted my time thinking that following are the ways to monetize...

1.build a website,copy contents,install adsense,wait for visitors,click,profit.
2.build a website,copy contents,wait for traffic,sell ad spaces.
3.click ads and get $0.001 per click.
4.data entry (never did)
5.blackhat={cheat|fraud}

and then i joined bhw.... :pirate: No need to mention what happened next...

mine biggest mistake is being lazy, and That I have not appreciated when was making 150$ a day for a months..

Biggest mistake...well, not entirely...is not taking ACTION or thinking a method cannot work.

You already know something that can make you money...Just go ahead and DO it. DOING is the keyword here.

not setting up a massive follow up email set years ago for all my lists.

some have never been contacted after signing up!!

My biggest mistake: Losing one of my IRL jobs because I didn't have time for it. Instead I was clicking ads on PTC sites for 1 cent a piece (IRL job gave me 15$ an hour).

Yes, I was young. But hey: Thats how I earned my first 10$ online! :)

And then I decided to spend them on autosurfs................

I have a chronical problem with procrastination, and I wish I could consider this a lesson instead of a mistake, but so far it seems that I haven't learned the lesson yet.

quitting before I even started.
1.5 years ago I said I was going to start a website. I bought a domain and host but I did not know how to set it up. It was with godaddy and I was looking at the settings and stuff and wondering how I start this up. Then I was like screw it and quit and got my refund back.

broad match! got screwed over on a few domains because of it!! G00gle must default it to that on purpose or somein,

not using my epic programming skills to take all the great and working black hat software applications out there, integrating them all into one single package, improving on working examples and hopefully making tons of money like the authors of current working black hat software packages do =)

well few years ago i've invested a lot, i mean real lot, in a site that I thought would finally bring me some stable income, since i wanted to get out from affiliate game (as we all know it's not stable). That site turned out to be a fail. I think that was my biggest mistake.

in the same year I bought $4000 alienware laptop which turned out to be total crap. Now alienware is way cheaper but I still won't buy it as I know it's super crap and its hinge is made from plastic! (yes i know because i ever checked it out)

These are some mistakes that I continue to make:
- Getting lots of new ideas constantly --> jumping from idea to idea before profiting from the previous one
- Trying to do stuff in "the most efficient way possible" --> afraid of wasting my time doing stuff (like building backlinks) in a bit time consuming way --> not building enough backlinks (--> reading too much BHW :D)
- Getting comfortable with the IM service income I get (which is not even that much, like 1000-1350 dollars a month) --> Not working enough on my own sites/products which would enable me to quit offering services altogether and scale up my business.

In short: Lack of focus.

But I am getting better with this and the amount of action I am taking for my own projects and sites is constantly increasing.

this is pretty much me spot on!

1) Not setting goals. When I was about 20 (ten years ago), I was making a shit load of money from a niche ($300k per year) and I got lazy (depression maybe too) and pretty much walked away from it, but it was on autopilot so continued to make six figures for a few more years, but kept declining. Looking back,t he only thing I could think that could have changed things was setting goals and sticking to them. But at 20, it was hard to not be happy with what I've done. But the truth is if I could have even put in a few hours a day, I would have been making 7 figures. Now with competition today, things are 100x harder. To give you an idea, I created a site in about 2 days, it was a list of pharmacies for seniors and other people to get prescription drugs cheap. I pretty much just copied the list from a free site. All I did was submit it to Yahoo directory (think it was $200 at the time), and two days later that site was making about $100 a day, and I never did anything with it again.

2) Giving up. This ties into my above story. Bigger competition came into the niche, and I got discouraged. One was a big time company with a lot of money, so basically made my site look like an amateur. The other big competitor spent a ton of money on blackhat (which I wasn't into yet). These two guys destroyed the rankings, and looking up at them, trying to get myself back into it, I felt I was at the bottom of a mountain that was covered in ice.

But finally, I did get back into it, and realized, I may not have the money to do what these guys did, but I'm smarter than them to capitalize on other areas of the niche (smaller keywords). Then I also became a regular here and realized things were so much easier lol, and I did have a chance. So I battled back, and I continue to climb and slowly take chunks out of their empire. How's this for white hat. After about ten years of my site being online, it had about 150 natural links, was depressing. I was about #60 in google for the main keyword which is 150k+ exacts per month. Frustrated that there was so much crap above mine, I started doing some BH. Today, I am #4 in Google, of course behind the two competitors, and wiki. But I also have about 40 other sites most ranking in top #5 for their keywords, and I'm developing another 60 sites.

I have a son now, and he is my motivation. That and not wanting to ever be 'normal', and live a 'normal' life.

Sorry, long rant.

this is truly and inspirational piece of history man. you could write a book on this shit! (royalties for the idea please :D)
