I know there is wordfence. What's the best ones free or paid? Thanks. Its about time I took security seriously.

you can try to use captcha plugin i use recaptcha by bestwebsoft, mmm.. akismet, etc, just search on google, you will find a lot of suggestions + guide how to settings.

I use WP Cerber Security
you can try it for free

I think one of the better ones is iThemes Security, I have been using this for a couple of years without any issue. They do a Pro version also, but you get all the features you'll need and more in the free verison, the brute force security is great, it will lockout ip addresses after so many attempts.

I don't really know much about the others but I have been using the free version of Wordfence and it has kept my sites secure so far.

I only use iThemes Security or wordsense they are quite good

You are doing good in wordfence. Are you on free trial?

  • Wordfence security
  • defender
  • all In One WP Security and Firewall
  • jetpack
  • bulletProof Security
These are some good plugins for the security in WP

I think 'All In One WP Security & Firewall' is a better option.

Every plugin is good But the Cloudflare made the website so secure

Less plugins = more security

The most security comes from Server inside (Firewall, WAF) web server configuration.
And the most important passwords and email not leaked.

Themes + Plugins nullled = High chances to be hacked.
Themes or plugins outdated and bad coded is bad choice to use ;)

Change wp-admin to other name and block brute force and also if you can lock that URL with password requesting.

Cheers

I don't recommend using all or more than one.
Wordfence is enough from my experience.

Is not a plugin who will protect you from vulnerabilities of themes or plugins. Even with wordfence you can be hacked.
Pratice a good security and use strong passwords and unique email (not leaked in any database)

Disable plugins that is not outdated and the development is stopped.
I repeat less plugins activated or installed = more security

Just my advice.
Cheers.
