    Good morning;

    I'm new here, I've taken a look and have not found this discussed, I apologize if it has been and I just didn't find it.

    I have a number of keyword rich domains that I want to all send traffic back to one main site, here is a fictitious example of what I mean, the main site is cars com, I also own related domains - (again fictitious examples) fastcars com, new cars com, oldcars com. These domains are keyword rich, with a minimum of 5,000 Exact Match results per month per domain. Note: These domains are all very much related to the sites contents and are not spammy.

    It seems the standard advice is to 301 redirect those to the main domain. However, I am wondering if it would make more sense to setup a small page with some content on it, then send the people to the main site? Or I could have the domain 301 redirect to a internal page on the main site that at least has the domains keywords in the title.

    Any suggestions as to the best way to approach this?

    Thanks
    Jamie

    There are different redirect 301 options (hidden redirect, people will not see that the content is being pulled from a different domain, visible redirect - people will see the other url they are redirected too).

    what redirect do you mean?

    cheers

    In anyway - make sure that google is not indexing the same content under 2 domains. -> duplicate content penalty!

    I know that google tell you to just do a standard 301 redirect, non-cloaked. If I made a landing page, then I would not have dup content. However, if I just do the standard non-cloaked 301 right to the main site, will I get a much SEO value as if I created a landing page for that domain, then directed people to the site?

    I hear people over and over saying the dup content penalty is a myth?

    I have a article directory site, that has every one of the article posted somewhere else, it's been up for just over 2 week and google has been working their way though the site, they have index 120 full pages so far, and I am getting traffic from that duplicate content.

    Thanks
