Best way to protect your intellectual properties?

So with clones popping up like mushrooms in the internet, I wonder what's the best way to protect my business trademarks and copyrights?

I'm not Us based so I was thinking in incorporating my business in the US trough a service like Stripe Atlas (even more attractive after GOP's tax bill). There's an international treaty that supposedly protects your properties across 100+ countries but I was wondering if it has the same validation in a US court as a US company, judging (pun) by the fact that courts tend to be VERY biased when it comes to protecting their countries companies.

So what's the best way to protect your intellectual properties in North America, Europe and Australia? (specially US and Australia)

I've been working on my products for nearly four years and I don't want some random joe to suddenly steal my products and be defenseless about it.

Yeah, that's what I'll most likely do, just wanted to hear some of your experiences on the topic.

Get a trademark, and or copyright.
