Best way to learn and create a Wordpress site??

So Jimmy, what's your progress so far? Have you listened to these guys in playing around on WP?

I use artisteer to make websites the learning curve is small and easy to get the hang off its like 50bucks or you can torret it.. but its definitely worth it

Lynda training videos are good.I learned wordpress fr there too.

Seriously the only way you'll learn, is by actually attempting it. You'll figure it out as you go. Asking about it gets you no where. Wordpress helps you along the way too.

The wisest bet is to self-teach yourself and do as you have started doing - learn as you go along. That's not just because you'll save money compared with what some people think it's acceptable to charge you. It also means that if you need to change something or run maintenance, you don't need to call those people back, you can get in there and do it yourself. Also, once you're comfortable creating sites, you can do more sites for more niches without needing to outsource any work.

and Never think or get afraid of something, No one has is perfect by birth
God has given all of us more or less equal skills,
Most of times we learn the way from do and learn approach.
Ofcourse in the way we fall many times or face distractions but never get them disappoint you there.

Well here's some tips:

If you don't want a cookie cutter website, don't hire random freelance/strangers and don't hire one because they are cheap. Look at portfolios and experience if you want somebody reputable who can deliver what you want.

But if you REALLY would rather do it all by yourself (even though it will take away from what you should be focusing on to make your business successful) then you should study more than just how to put the pieces together in Wordpress. You should know which templates to use, and if you want to customize it further you should know code.

You should know which plugins to use for what purposes.

Before any of that, you should understand what I call the "3 magic beans of web development" and that is: Purpose, Content, and Design.
