Best way/software for scrubing an email list

We are already scrubbing but I'm not happy with performance at all. I'd like to know what others are using to scrub thieir large list? The smallest we ever get is 10K and we often get them larger than 1M, so a lot to scrub.

Any suggestions, thought, experiance, recomendations etc would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I had good results with GSA Email Spider. Paid sw though, but last time I looked they had a trial demo.

I have no issues paying for software that works and performs. I believe that GSA email Spider is spider software though, for harvesting emails. I need to scrub emails from a list, much different.

Seems to be a bit of confussion of what an email list scrubber is. Spider is a harvester, not a scrubber. A scrubber takes an email list and in theory should be able to (through a number of methods) "scrub" the list and in the end identify the emails on that list that are actually good, ie can be delivered.

A harvester would be ran before the scrubber and then results of the harvester would be inported into the scrubber.

send safe can do this..If you mean to verify emails the best method is send them email then seperate those bounces.

I think Maxprog has tools to do this too. GSA email verifier can also clean your list.

I don't think Maxprog supports Proxies but I saw the GSA one before, should have checked it out, those guys really are very good. Testing now.
