Question: Is a gun black hat or white hat?

Answer: It's depends on the hands of the individual the gun got into.

It is true for almost all SEO tool/software except the ones that were purportedly built for black hat tactics.

I recommend Senuke X and Scrapebox..

I would be very careful with SENUKE X....if used incorrectly, you can get penalized so fast it will make your head spin!

Ultimate Demon is probably the most white hat of all the tools out there.

Exactly how is any part of using an automation tool "white-hat"?

But yeah, I'm deciding between GSA or NHSeo myself.

I use SEOMoz and MySEOTool.com daily; can't go past them. For backlinks, I do prefer ahrefs.com over OSE from SEOMoz...

If you are talking about total whitehat, really you should be creating and doing submissions manually. Sure there are 101 easy tools to 'hopefully' get you there faster, but with all the recent algo changes, the days of throwing 10000 links to a site and it hitting the first page are largely a thing of the past.

Instead for whitehat optimization, I would look at guest posts on similar niche sites that are ranked well, press releases, and other higher quality link building.
