Best platform to start blogging other than Wordpress?

I am looking for a platform that already would rank in the search engine.

Let me explain: you can post a video on YouTube with 0 followers and get more than 13k views. Now, when it comes to blogging on WordPress, you have to build backlinks just to rank and still not get those numbers.

That is the reason am looking for a better alternative that would rank on its own.
 
Advertise on BHW
Publish as guest posts on big DR80+ blogs/newsletters. They rank fast, you get traffic + a backlink. (Best for you)
 
You're expecting a platform with SEO power baked in. That's not how it works. What you're trying to achieve can be done using authority websites like medium but not your own website, doesn't matter if you code your own website or use a CMS.
Youtube and a blogs serve different user intents. Can't be compared.

Medium has changed since 2023 before you was able to insert affiliate not any more as of 2024.
 
Totally get you. Platforms like Medium, LinkedIn Articles, and Quora can rank well on their own—great for getting traffic without heavy SEO or backlinks.
 
Try Medium or Substack. They have massive domain authority and built‑in audiences, so your posts can rank and get traction faster without heavy backlink building.
 
Try Reddit posting or Medium. If you do it right, it brings good traffic even without SEO.
 
I guess, WP is still one of the best long-term plays. Unlike social platforms, you fully own your content and can build real authority over time. It takes more upfront work with SEO and backlinks, but once it starts ranking, the traffic is way more stable and valuable

No platform you can rank on own. Even in case of YouTube, you have to make good content.
 
Try platforms like Medium, Quora, Reddit or YouTube. These sites already rank well on Google, so your content can get seen even without building backlinks.
 
Platforms with built-in authority like Medium or LinkedIn can help your content rank faster without heavy SEO

Medium and Substack are great options if you want to write without worrying about design or technical stuff.
If you want more control and customization:
Ghost and Wix might be better options.
If you want a free and easy platform:
Blogger and Substack are pretty good options.

If you're looking for a blogging platform that ranks well on its own (like YouTube does for videos), Medium and Substack are your best options.

Medium: High domain authority, strong built-in audience, and good SEO—your posts can rank without backlinks.

Substack: Great for email-based blogging with SEO benefits and a growing discovery platform.

Both let you start with zero followers and still get organic traffic.
