Hey all,

What is the best platform to dropship? I'm looking to get into the dropshipping business and I've been reading up and doing research. So far I've seen people using shopify, etsy, and woocommerce. I'm currently leaning towards etsy since it is the cheapest to set up and get started with, but which one is the best? Also, if you have any suggestions about which platform to use that I haven't mentioned yet, please list it here. Thanks.

Shopify isnt free, but is more easy for users that dont have experience with the complexity of WP for a user that never use this.

WP you need Hosting + domain but you can pay, for example 24 usd per year for Hosting + Domain, you can try to find some plugins free and theme free too. But need time to configure all this.

Etsy, eBay, even Amazon and other website that have marketplace like this can be good for somebody that dont want invest much, but need time to find traffic in your store, from social media, Pinterest, IG, Facebook, Twitter...

Try to find the best one that you feel more confortable for you :)

Good luck mate and sorry for my english.

Thanks for your reply, your english is pretty good! With Etsy can I set up my own shop? I'm leaning towards etsy but I don't know for sure.

Everyone else, I'm still accepting replies, if you know of any other platforms to dropship on please post them here. All help is appreciated, thanks.

it's not exactly a platform, but don't forget you can have someone create a site that is totally custom for you. Something better then what was already listed maybe expensive, but you may not need that degree of functionality, so consider it.

Good luck mate :)

OP if you want to sell on Etsy please take note that Etsy is a peer-to-peer e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items and supplies, if you sell other than that your account will get ban.
Try amazon, ebay or make your own ecommerce website.

I agree with the above post. If you are using a drop shipper, your items are not going to be handmade.

But there are a lot of things on etsy that are obviously not handmade and selling a lot, such as this; which are obviously fakes: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/400032535/i-feel-like-pablo-the-real-life-of-pablo?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=&ref=sr_gallery_14

Perhaps Etsy isn't very strict about their rule? Does anyone have any prior experience they can share? Thanks.

I don't think etsy is free. If you want a free platform woocommerce is good. Setting up your store needs a lot of work and effort. If you want to speed it up, I suggest using Alidropship (If you're using aliexpress as your supplier). You can integrate the free e-commerce theme with wordpress. The plugin will help you easily import products to your store.

Honestly if you're just starting out and have little to invest I'd say go the route of Ebay or Amazon, but if you have the time and/or money then for sure create your own site. Good luck!
