This is where I'm at.
Several free article submitters (well free hacked ones) One pasts to about 40 high ranking sites - another to a few hundred crappy ones. Put together that's ok by me. (I post to Ezine and Buzzle individually)
The best spinner ($77 a year)
Deep linker Pro. Site and some individual pages/posts using the deep link option
Bookmarking Demon (long set up - but very good) add several sites a week (10-12 accounts per site)
Scrapebox.
10 proxies for the above ($25 or less for dedicated fast proxies. free ones scraped are - well free obviously, but 10 paid ones are well worth it)
Ongoing cost = 25 a month plus 77 a year
so about 30 a month in total
Get articles spun,submitted.
Web pages posts submitted to deep link and social sites
Spend a few hours scraping places to post or adding count to my articles
Now I'm not saying this replaces everything that SE-Nuke could do, and it certainly takes more time to set up. But for the cost - pro rata - if you're prepared to put the effort in to set up these tools properly (synonyms,memberships,accounts,proxies etc) then it works out pretty good value (scratch that - I think it's brilliant value)
It's not exactly what I wanted to establish. I wanted ZERO cost. Without the proxies it would be very small, and you could use a free article spinner if you had to. but for under $30 a month total it's a decent set up.

So 250 dollars plus 20 a month gets you a pretty comprehensive toolkit.
Note - join CB and buy under your hoplink to save cash. Clickbank completely allow this technique. If you don't like CB just scrap your account afterwards.
You could do without proxies (scrapebox finds a few public ones for you that might do just enough - just don't ping your own articles with them - it rarely works) and you could get a free spinner (though Best is BEST) but that would give you a ZERO monthly outgoing!
The 2 Clickbank purchases alone should trigger the minimum payment, and a couple of weeks later you'll get a payment for your "referral" from CB
Like I said, it doesn't compete with SE nuke on all features. It takes some know how to set them all up (not much though) it takes some TIME to set them all up (definitely) BUT for $250 or less you get a toolbox that should get you rockin' and rollin'.
I have NOTHING to do with any of the products or services above, but I was keen to find a solution that didn't involve a big outgoing a month. I prefer to pay a few hundred dollars up front and own the software - change or add individual bits as I see fit for a one off cost.
So for $250 up front and a little a month -
only if you want to - I think you should be able to get a real head start into just about any area of IM that will help.
Me? I'm about to install Xrumer on a server I'm configuring now, but 18 months ago a kit like the above would have saved me a fecking fortune, a lot of frustration, and got me making money a hell of a lot quicker than I did.

Keyword tools. I use Googles and an excel sheet I made myself. Always have, always will. I get EXCELLENT results. However, if I was in the microniche site business I would definitely add microniche finder -and possibly Keyword Samurai as weel. But I'm not - so I don't.
No one knows Googles keyword relevance better than Google - and they tell you exacly what the words are, for free. Though a quick VBA macro to append 6 or 7 searches together is something I've developed over time.
