Today we had a fire down the street and it caused the electricity to go out due to one of the transformers being torched. So, I hopped in the car and went to the closest place that has wifi in my area, a McDonalds (yes my cholesterol jumped 40 points when I pulled into the parking lot). I'm sitting there taking advantage of free internet for a couple of hours and I see one of the utility trucks for the electric company pull in. Utility guy gets our of the truck and walks into Micky Ds and as he is walking past my table I asked if he would happen to know if the electricity was working again on my street... he told me it was fixed about 15 - 20 minutes ago as he just left the job. I got up, shook his hand, thanked him for doing a great job and let him know I appreciate him taking care of the problem. He says to me, "You know, I've been doing this for 23 years and nobody has ever thanked me before, that makes my day." Do a nice thing and perhaps you'll make someone's day which would certainly make yours as his response made mine.
