Let me put it to you this way: Either thoughtless individuals like you are going to start caring and sharing, or desperate angry people like Father and me are going to come for people like you, and make you share. Your choice, and personally option two sounds like more fun. Because we have had it. We are tired of crumbs, and worrying about our health and our wives' health and trying to do better for ourselves and having people like you complain we should try harder. The day we snap, you better run. All over the country, people like you better run. And drop some money to slow us down, some of the money that was made off of our broken backs, our blistered feet while people like you enjoyed golf.
tbenny I can appreciate your situation, and even empathize. I'm the sole supporter of my mother who is 100% disabled. She was denied both her long term disability insurance which she paid for for 20 years of a working career AND for disability from social security because she was only 55 when she became disabled. I've been fighting for more than 5 years to fix this situation and paying her bills the whole time. On top of my own health problems.
So I have a right to call bullshit on this post you made.
Concern and generosity are wonderful things, but no one, here or elsewhere OWES you anything. While I feel for you, I'm beginning to suspect that a large part of your problem is attitude. As long as you believe that you can "snap" and "come and take" what you aren't owed, you have a more serious problem than Addison's disease.
You may have entitlement-itis.
"Crumbs?"
You're lucky you aren't starving somewhere or being eaten by a wild creature because you are too weak to survive on your own. In 90% of the world, Addison's would be a death sentence because no one around you has any crumbs to spare.
In short, please quit your bitching. The fact that you were posting this post instead of writing an article for someone for $3, or whipping up a squidoo lense, or writing a shitty ebook to sell on DP or or whatever tells me you aren't doing everything you COULD be doing to fix your own problems. So you have no right to criticise others for not handing you on a silver platter what you think you deserve.
This is said with the best of intentions man. I believe that our attitude about life contributes more to what we get out of it than most people realize. I'm trying to help by pointing out a place in your attitude where I see you being shortchanged.
You do deserve better, just because you're a human being. But if you aren't willing to do better for yourself, why would you expect others to do it for you?

edit: and just to be clear, I think healthcare should be provided free, without question to everyone. It never should have been a for-profit enterprise because by nature, the competition for, and need for "profit" is ruinous to real research and growth in hundreds of fields.
We should spend a lot less on bombs and guns and a lot more on research. But that's not the world we live in and gnashing your teeth and screaming about how things "should" be is time wasted that could be spent doing more to fix things in the systems that IS.
