Bad review client. What to do?

Hey all!


I have a client that just called me with a problem. It seems that a dutch car forum visitor made a bad review of his garage.

Its full of BS but ofcourse spidered by G... When searching for his company name that specific thread comes up second after his own domain.

Needless to say the competition for his garage name in G is none.

The form is a vBulletin Version 3.8.5


Now as far as i can see i have 3 options.

1 Contact the mod to remove, but after several mails from my client we can confirm this wont work.

2 Index all his innerpages to the max so in that case that specific thread would fall back to G page #X

3 Spam the shit out of that thread, but my experiences tell me its only a temp solution and once back it will be back on the same spot, maybe outranking my clients site.

So i am thinking of going for option 2. Will be some hard work and a nice bill.

Any other guys here who have some feedback on this one?

Could you confirm or deny whether it is about a Corvette dealer?

I would use REP management here and build reviews on other sites to rank over the Bad Review Site. Build reviews on high ranking sites such as yelp or angieslist and push the Bad Review from the number two spot and with the use of proxies of course. There was a good SEOmoz article

I also agree with liquidx, add more reviews to push down the bad one. Also, in some cases the client can sign into Google if he has claimed his listing there and may add his own comment in response to the negative comment.
