Backlinks ranked higher than money site

I have an EMD site related to exercises which has backlinks ranked higher than the money site (isn't ranked at all on google for the emd keyword). When it was first indexed it was ranked in the top50 with no SEO.

And I can't exactly remember if it dropped before or after I purchased some social signals and if that might be the cause it dropped. One other interesting thing I noticed is that when I checked my domain on ahrefs using a free account, the facebook like count was 1, google and twitter somewhere around 50, but when I checked again on the website using proxies too the social signal stats were all around 50. Before I started doing SEO I also promoted the website a little on Youtube with the top comments using an obfuscated url. Don't know if that could cause a problem in ranking. The website is also linked with my webmaster (it dropped before I linked it with webmaster tools) and google analytics account and I'm hosting it on a shared hosting supplied by Hoststage.

When I've started doing SEO, the website was starting to get higher on yahoo and maybe a little on bing, but it's no where to be seen on google. Any help on this issue is appreciated. Thanks!

I say keep building links and you should see it come into Google search results soon enough. However, are you sure the domain is not penalized? If it is then it is a completely different story.
 
i dont think its penalized.. does it appears in top 100?
 
I had a site with similar problem.... Google slapped your site... (unless your site is brand new)

I was top in ever term, the site gotr hit, and now im like 50th on google, top on bing, yahoo etc.

I have no idea why would it get slapped. When it dropped I only bought some social signals. I don't know if that could be the problem.
 
Social signals+ Google for some reason loved your content= honeymoon period.

EDIT: For me it happened with 9.000.000+ in quotes keyword, boom on 27. It took 10 days and then back to where I belong :P.

No, it doesn't. :( I don't know how could it be penalized before any SEO or just for crappy social signals.
 
Search for the the site name itself? For example, you'd search for "black hat world" if you were to search for this forum. If it doesn't show up, there's a problem.

If you could let me know what that shows, I can possibly help.
 
have you got a warning from google? if so then your site is dead and you should start on a new one right away.

The site name is actually a 4 word keyword I'm trying to rank for and it's nowhere to be seen on google :( But, I'm sure I've done everything right and have lost lots of time trying to rank it and figure out why it won't rank.

Are there any affiliate links on the homepage? If so, how many?

If you have webmaster tools installed, you will have some data as to which pages are getting the most impressions. Are any pages getting impressions?

Lots of questions, I know. I'm just trying to figure out a possible cause here. :-)

Nope, just three adsense ads on the top of the page. It isn't getting any impressions (not ranked on google). As I said, I've received no warnings from google and the only thing I could think of is that it dropped because of social signals. On the page it shows all of them to be around 50, and when I check the stats with ahrefs it shows that it has only 1 like.

Well, this is my first attempt in ranking a micro site with an EMD, so I maybe am novice. I've also got one other site where my backlink is found on the first position and the money site is nowhere to be seen, although this money site was first until it dropped because I had to switch hosting and the site was down. :/
