Hello BHW,

I created several articles with links to my money sites on websites like blogger, medium , quora and reddit before 3 weeks. I would like to know if this step worth or not for backlinks and site authority or useless? I haven't seen them in GSC and also via Semrush.

I haven't find these sites in money site backlinks profile (not indexed yet). Is it worth or should I focus rather to different method of building links like guest posts or niche edits rather than these free sites nowadays?

Thank you.

Sure why not - Links from Reddit etc. implies that people are talking about your site which is a good thing because it means your site is relevant in the eyes of google. They won't make a big of a move for your site but they are good for a diversed backlink profile.

As advised this kind of links are good for diversity and you may get some traffic. But it don't provide any higher values. Most of the links done on blogger, medium , quora won't index in google. Instead you can focus on guest posts, niche edits and relevant PBN links.

Check the pages for 'noindex' tags or whether the content on them is being served via javascript. Many of the sites you mention will be difficult to index because of roadblocks such as those.

When you're digging around in your competitors backlinks, look for similar sites that are being picked up and indexed, and try your efforts with those instead of the sites you mentioned in your post.

Well , a lot of people say different answers. Some says that it worth for them , some use only them as parasites for backlinks and other that it's won't bring anything for my website.

it depends on the requirements of website owners.

Well , just trying to be and find the most effective way vs. with time + money spend to buildbacklinks.

Should I invest time (if I will build links by myself) or pay to someone to build backlinks on quora/reddit/medium or rather invest time and money into email outreach. Another factor is time and indexing. Because everyone wants to rank fast as possible.

Yes, they help a little, you should not be making them take most of your time. Medium will not index your posts if you are new and dont engage with the community.

Yes these links do show up in GSC if you are doing things right.

No, a link showing in GSC doesnt automatically mean it was working or did any massive SEO gain.

No follow links are now able to be counted as hits by google, so when built properly you have chances of

getting "hits" from High DA websites.

Medium allows you to set canonical on posts so it is possible to use bedium to transfer some ranking signals over time.

Ranking signals you are sending with no follows from high DA sites in many tools will not actively show your domain power

changing but this barely matters as google does not use those 3rd party tools.

I assume you are not intending to spam your whole website with these links, but only have possible benefits pass to your best pages. I personally think if you are on budget its easier to make them yourself or slightly automate it so you can control anchor text etc.

if you are looking for speed you might aswell build a pbn where you have much more control or do outreach. Big sites get crawled a lot but it is not uncommon that your random post without any promotion might not get seen by google for a while. The same way I can update a medium post and google would have still not recrawled the new version in 2 weeks.

As people above have rightly said, these links will not give you huge boost in search rankings, but they are good to have for link diversity. Also these links are very easy to make so they wont cost you much. Any link builder can build them for you for very cheap.

Creating articles with links on free blogging platforms like Blogger, Medium, Quora, and Reddit can be a good way to build backlinks and improve site authority. However, it's important to remember that these links may not have as much value as links from more authoritative sites.
It's also possible that these links may not be indexed yet, so it's worth keeping an eye on them and waiting a bit longer to see if they show up in Google Search Console or other backlink analysis tools.

What if it is a do-follow backlink from these site

Better to do this yourself. It's cheaper that way.

Just to note that please check that on Quora and Medium you have allowance for index (and not no-index tag on webpage), otherwise your job is useless. Reddit could be not indexed under u/yourname account. Blogger started webpage is DA1 and could be never indexed. Depends.

If you look other threads here on forum you will read for example that a lot of people think that Medium is dead for any seo.

medium / quora / reddit add nofollow tags to external links. so I don't think they are super useful.
