Autoblogs - Why so much BS about them?

yea I've gone through that but it doesn't help, lets take this to pm or aim as to not hijack lol

jvmarket, someone pointed out that you need to test things out and see for yourself what works best for what you tried. You don't have to pay for many things for you to earn say 2/3 bucks a day. I find RSS feed submission (manual and auto) working well for me. I spend time selecting appropriate categories for manual sites.

Nice rant. It's very handy for the pipe dreamers.

Like anything, if you don't intend to put in the work you won't succeed. I have seen a lot of people saying "look at my blog" and it is crap. I couldn't agree more with you about content. I have spend months coming up with unique and value added content. All I learned in college was about value added (finance major). I don't think that is stressed enough here. You won't make money (serious money) with out adding value. Autoblogging leaves a lot to be desired because of the title. Sure you can set some things up for "automation" but to truly get things where you want ($$$) you have to put your time in. Anyone of these "gurus" making serious cash (Ewen Chia?) dedicated their lives to making money online. They didn't just develop some halfed assed "automation" idea while ripping a bp to make cash.

PS: I had one stoner friend that was indian and ridiculous with all sorts of languages. He has literally set some shit up for automation that makes hime over 400K a year (and yes he actually still does some work, automation is for only some parts of the venture). I would suggest not attempting to do this unless you have ridiculous programming skills, or can get someone to program for you.

After spending a fair amount of time reading the posts in this forum and others I'm absolutely amazed at the bullshit that people are spewing as truth.
You can say that about many other methods too, it annoys me too see some kid bragging that he makes $7000 a week ewhoring. To back it up they expect you to believe some bs photoshopped jpeg.

Thanks for telling it like it is Jv :)

One the first things you need to do when you decide to start building blogs is to figure out what niche you want to build it on. If you do a search on here, let me see if I can find it, here it is
Code:
[url]http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/10224-niche-guide-intro-part-1-finding-niche.html#post431649[/url]

This is a pretty good guide on how to pick a niche. There are as many different techniques to finding a niche as there are people looking. The best advice I can give someone is to find a way the like and stick to it.

There are also a number of programs out there like Mirco Niche Finder and Nichebot that people swear by. I have never used them because I have my own way of finding niches. They may be worth every penny though (and some in this forum speak highly of them).

However you decide to do it don't worry if you make a mistake...if you do you still have a blog (and if an autoblog) you wont have to worry about content, who knows, in time it may even make you a few dollars.

I like to choose topics that I'm interested in I find I do my part a little better if I'm interested in the subject. I then do some basic keyword research to find out what other people are doing. Let me interject something here, I spy, research, reverse engineer or whatever else I need to do to help make a new campaign profitable. This includes taking the top sites for a niche and ripping them apart. I want to learn everything I can before I start a new project. This is the difference in having to start one blog or ten blogs to make a good profit.

Sorry...sometimes I ramble a bit. After I do some basic keyword research, I look at how much traffic those keywords get. Then I look at what shows up in the search engines for those keywords. I want to know what people are looking for when they type in those keywords. Are they adsense sites, are they selling affilaite products or is it just a bunch of pages filled with crap only geeks and nerds would look at.

If I think there may be something to the niche I'll research it more, I want to know if I can own the top search engine listings for some of the keywords. I want to figure out if I'm going to just put adsense on it or if I'm going to selling affiliate products. We have blogs whose sole purpose is to be a billboard for advertisers.

Here is a current project I'm working on, wind and solar energy. I'm not going to tell you the keywords though if you work smart enough you can probably find a few but I will tell you that there are a number of products to sell.

This blog will have adsense on it as well as a couple banners and an optin box. It will take me a week to have the layout done, the initial content written, and the emails for the options.

Now lets assume all I want to do is create some quick adsense blogs. I would pick a niche like investing (I have blogs in this niche) they get a ton of hits...the clicks are expensive (I've gotten as much as $3 for a single click). Where people screw up is that they try and rank for the high competition keywords...not going to happen.

Instead I invest some serious time in keyword research and find lots of good long tail keywords. These are the keywords I generate content for. Nobody is bidding on them so google finds other keywords related to my blog's niche to base the ads on. So...I make good money off keywords nobody bids on...aint that a hoot.

Hope this makes sense

I want to throw a bitch out there....for those of you looking to have somebody build an autoblog for you. I've spoken with a few people on this forum about having them build me a blog. If I could find someone who could build me a blog cheap the way I want it then it would be worth while.

Unfortunately, I have not found anyone that I would ask to build me a blog. Here is one example why. I was going to have this person choose the niche and build the blog. But I wanted to review he research prior to him building the blog.

He chose keywords that had a very low number of searches per month and a high amount of competition. Had I chose to use this guy I wwould have bought a blog that got almost no traffic.

Educate yourself on what it is you want before you hire someone to do the work for you. If you dont you will regret it.

I had to rant about the Bull Shit I keep reading.

IMO
traffic come from promotion and Search engine.
Promotion like backlinks and Networking.
But Search engine from keywords.

So if not from search promote it from Networking
For short/long term keywords you will against many competitors
why take headache for that?
How about People know to blog but dunno Seo and keywords?
People of course will spend on autoblog for SEO and Keyword purpose too.

I havent had any luck with autoblogging. I made about 25 of them and I'm getting around 100 impressions a day between all of them. I've spent TONS of time making them look nice and natural but the traffic just isn't there. I think I chose crappy niches... its really frustrating. Google is deindexing alot of my pages too.

Even if google deindexed them if you tell the world about yoursite you will get visitors
Seriously.. but yes it is not automatic ^^
From google traffic is better for automation

I get most of my traffic from other search engines anyways but I think I'm doing something wrong. I was under the impression you could get around $1/day for a blog without much promotion. I've made 25 and done quite a bit of link building and am making less than $1 total.

How many posts per day do you have per blog? How many RSS feeds are you pulling from? Do you use feeds from popular sites or do you go for smaller unkown sites?

I think I'm using all the right plugins and my blogs look good but I'm not getting traffic. I've noticed that most of my blogs have around 200 pages indexed and most of them are the tag pages.

yep autoblogs do work....I have one the gets about 2500 uniques a month does about $90/month in adsense and $200+/month in affiliate sale

I used to do arbitrage stuffs. I used YSM to drive traffic to adsense, and my adsense revenue always 20 times more than my affiliate revenue.

Everytime I read someone claim they make more than adsens, I doubt it because in my experience, even highly targeted traffic(in my opinion, PPC traffic is more targeted than SE traffic) bring much more money from adsense than affiliate programs.

In real life, it's all the same. It's much harder to really SELL stuffs. To get people click and leave is much easier. So why many people say their affiliate income is double or trible than their adsense income? I just don't understand.

Just check out google's primary income---adwords. People click, they get money.

That's why they use adwords as the first option as income source instead of sell stuffs and share revenue.

HHi, I have a question, if we want to really "automate" content building by using plugins like wp-o-matic, how could it possible to do "keyword research".

If we use plugin to automate content building, then we couldn't control how those bloggers use keywords.

And I really need an example that a high traffic blog using long tail keywords. I always read about long tail for hundreds of times maybe, but all of them don't give examples.

I would also like someone to answer both jimmychuang's questions...

How can you research if later you will post things other people (with other agendas) wrote?

ALso an example of long tail keywords would be appreciated.

Promote with anchor text as backlinks

take this as the title there must be somone who use this title becoz you are copying it
You want to rank for some keyword term too rite?

then do this

<a href="http://yourblog.com/yourpostlink">How can you research if later you will post things other people</a> nah done u get 1 backlinks for that term

Wp-o-matic give dupe content as i know..

If wp-o-matic and dup content don't work, then all the auto blog posts are useless.

I think it still has value for bloggers and visitors.

And there's no plugin or software can truely rewrite articles, they will never pass Google's dup content filter.

I'll tackle this later when I have more time...but wp-o-matic is not the only way to generate content.

If you are using someone else's content you will have a lot of it deindexed by google. One of my blogs has 25k posts....only about 14K indexed.

That sucks "only" 14,000+ pages indexed.

Remember, we are taking short cuts and trying to cheat the system...there is a price to pay for that.

I'll try and write more later...in the mean time look for other content sources...UAW, RSS to Blog and others.

How many visitors you get does not depend on how nice the blog looks like. It matters for monetization.

So I would suggest that you first try to promote your blogs. If you see that the visitors are coming, you can change the layout and make the ads more tempting to click.
