Authority score and domain authority?

Is there a distinction between "authority score" and "domain authority"? Why am I seeing low scores on SEMrush's authority score but high scores for the same site's domain authority? What could be causing this discrepancy? Additionally, considering these differences, should I switch to using Ahrefs more frequently than SEMrush? (i relay heavily on semrush)

Different companies, different metrics, different algorithms.

Whether to switch to Ahrefs depends on your needs. Both tools offer valuable SEO insights.
 
For me, SEMRush is the worst... it gives random numbers for traffic and I've never bothered about their "authority" score.
Concentrate on your site rather than those useless metrics.
 
Authority score often reflects the overall strength of a site based on various factors, while domain authority specifically measures a site's ranking potential. Discrepancies can arise due to differences in algorithms & data sources between tools.
