Hey all - my previous post was taken down for some reason so creating a new one...

As the title mentions this is an ask me anything thread - I work very closely with email and SMS marketing in the casino space where we push traffic to casino operators using various data vendors and data acquisition sources

And also work very closely with casino operations (grey market)

Ask me anything! Insights and conversations are always appreciated in the space

Good question - you know what as a casino we often have to make sure we have enough cash flow to pay-out big winners (unless you're playing on the scummy ones which never pay) - but a big one for any operation I've been has always been making sure we give good service (which is why max exposure is so important)

With that said we don't control who wins and who doesn't (contrary to public belief) - games are heavily regulated, even in the grey market.

Typically return to players sits around 96% but this is calculated over a million bets.

In the long term - unless you have some hack - technically the casino will always win - but this is well communicated across the industry and world I would say.

I am speaking about slots and games - sports book can definetly be beaten if you are a sharp bettor

Some of my clients use digital marketing, focusing on Google and TikTok. What are your conversion rates for SMS and email?

Do not know of any if I'm being honest. - game providers are heavily heavily regulated even in the grey market space

For casino? How does that perform for them by any chance - always been interested due to blocks on the mentioned channels.


Re conversion on SMS and Email it heavily depends on the quality of the contacts we are marketing to. But overall it's a high volume game - you can send hundreds of thousands of emails and only get a few conversions heavily depends.

SMS is a lot more intrusive and pricier than email but it does help conversion significantly when doing multi touch point campaigns

Customer data is secure, but I see they spend a lot, so they must be converting well.

What country are you doing casino sms marketing now?

We are quite vast but currently mainly tier 1 countries ( CA , EU: IT GB SP DACH, NL)

We also support other countries like Turkey, some geos in Asia etc - SMS wise we can hit anywhere basically
 
Are you a casino employee?

1) Are the projects you're sending for licensed locally or offshore like Curaçao etc.?
2) Do you often get letters from regulators for SMS campaigns?
3) And what's roughly your CPA for Canada with this type of traffic?
4) How do you usually structure your retention funnel with SMS?

Hey - just seeing this now

1) Mainly Curacao

2) No not really but we make sure to allow users to unsubscribe

3) Range can be quite big but typically we go for hybrid 100+

4) we're only doing acquisition no retention
 
do you need a student? I wish to jump into this field but have no idea where to start and do. hope got someone to guide me

Interesting niche. I'm curious what has changed the most over the last couple of years. Is deliverability becoming a bigger challenge than acquiring traffic itself? It feels like inbox providers and carriers keep getting stricter, so I'd be interested to hear whether the real competitive advantage today is having better data or simply being able to consistently reach users without getting filtered.
