Ask me anything about Facebook Ads 2019

I'm having a hard time to find a profitable campaign recently, even for BH ads, which used to be in good roi, but recently the CPM went insanely high. Any advice for this?

Hey, thanks for the great thread, it's stuffed with useful info.

What kind of advertising would you recommend for a loan app starting from scratch in a third world country (it's a surprisingly large industry! )? Should I do App Install ads with screenshots that direct to the app's Play Store page? Or maybe clickbaity images of people holding lots of money? Or something else?

What are some good resources for creating graphics for image ads?

Is it possible to show your ads only to predefined IP-s/IP ranges?

I don't believe so

Would need more details on your targeting. What's your relevance score?

Facebook's built-in stock images work surprisingly well. I used to make really slick stuff in Canva only to have it be outperformed by a picture of a random Shutterstock guy. Give it a try.

I just created a conversation campaign as a test and products added to the cart was my conversion goal.

The results

Impression 370
Link clicked 1
Amount spent 8.60

What I'm a doing wrong? 1 link clicked for 8.60 is really bad especially since I'm only going to make about 10 dollars per purchase

I'm guessing you can use the facebook pixel on instagram aswell, right? I see a lot of smart people suggesting starting dropshipping ads on instagram first, then move over to FB when I have a bigger budget and more data.

How well does the data I've gathered from Instagram translate over to FB when I'm trying to target or go foward with lookalike audience?

What are your favourite tools for competitive analysis on FB ?

What are some interest that are highly converting? I sell shoe cleaners and sole whiteners I direct them to my shop website. My relevance score is 10 but I need more sales.

The Facebook pixel isn't something you use on Facebook or Instagram, it's something you install on your website. Facebook automatically optimizes your campaigns to show on the best performing platform for you, whether that's Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, whatever. Most eCommerce stores do best on Instagram.

What are your favourite tools for competitive analysis on FB ?

I don't use any tools, I just use the Info and Ads tab.

If your relevance score is 10 then your Interests are fine. You likely just need a better optimized funnel. Are you running a Conversion campaign?

Tested casino, got up to 1000% roi first day on casino campaign($150 spent, $1400 back) then let the campaign run for 2 more days, I got negative roi for whole days lol. RS was 5-6.
Now I plan to try Male Enhance, any advice on it?

Male enhancement products are not allowed. How do you even get it approved in the first place?

When starting a new store start with Conversion Ads on View Content, then transition to Add-to-Cart as you get enough data, then Purchase.

What do you mean by start a conversion ads on view content? Can you elaborate more on this part.

Thank you :)

That's it? No interest or lookalike? That's likely your problem

Conversion ads = the objective you choose when first setting up a campaign
View content = refers to a fully loaded page view of your landing page

Oh man, no wonder you go through questions in machine gun-like fashion. Are you for hire? lol

Hahahhaa maybe, you can PM me and see if we'd be a good fit ;)

Hi, which facebook placement work best for eCommerce? Do you select all of them and let facebook do the optimization or is there always some that you eliminate because they never work well?

Yes, auto placements and let Facebook optimize for you. Generally for eCommerce Instagram does the best

How do you target B2B corporate services?

E.g. I have a client who owns several of those Instagram photo taking booths, which companies love to rent them out for their corporate parties for like $500 for 2hrs.

Did you try CPI ? And what are your tactics to get lowest cpc ?

Never done CPI. High CTR = lower CPCs

Target B2B Interests such as 'SalesForce', and alternatively layer in job title interests of buyers at companies.
