Ask me ANYTHING about eBay!

Where can I purchase attractive listing templates/store templates without breaking the bank? The ones on Ebay are affordable but pretty cheesy looking.

I use the listing service inkfrog.com and then customize their templates from there using html. They are a monthly subscription service at $9.95 per month or $15 per month if using their version of terrapeak researcher.

eBay also has 3rd party applications and some of them offer themes... I was imperssed with the Froo! template service offered by eBay.. It used to be free but now I think there is a cost associated with it.

Hello why i cant verifly my acc sellers on EBAY.DE ? i try write my original CC but alway get ERROR , i try 3 different CC ,
or i try write my bank acc but i think problem is i have not germany bank acc.
and maybe some of my CC was verify to other my ebay.c_o_m acc whitch are now banned. Is problem here ?
And is solution of my situation is buy VCC ? from this forum thanks

eBay verification is US only as it is actually a 3rd party service verified through one of the credit bureaus in the USA... unless they have changed that recently... PayPal can verify internationally though I'm pretty sure... Sorry I'm not that knowledgeable about international ebay trade.

how would i go about making my product listed on the 1st page of the search?

It depends how the buyer is sorting the results. The default "best match" results are based upon actions vs impressions and various other factors.

So let's say 100 visitors view your product... out of those 100 eBay takes note of how many make a purchase (for fixed price multi quantity listings) or bids/watches for auctions (this is unconfirmed if watchers/bids affect auction performance in best match)

If you have a higher ratio of purchases to views than another listing in your category, you will outrank that listing.

They also take into consideration other factors like time left (auctions get a huge boost when they have <24 hours left), powerseller / top rated sellers get a boost, free shipping gets a boost, good feedback gets a boost. Basically eBay tries to reward sellers who are treating their buyers well by improving their rankings in the search results.

unfortunately this can also lead to a "monopoly" affect in that Top Rated Sellers often dominate the best match results and have higher profit margins with their discounts.

I have been working to purchase genuine products but have run into a batch of items that look very legit but I have a few reasons to believe they are knock off and just high quality knock off. Should I just sell them fast and cheap to get rid of them using normal means or maybe just Craigslist them off to avoid any online problems? I've been worried about listing them although I assume if they are knockoff if no one I know can tell and I can't tell i'd probably get away with it.

It depends on the item... certain products like designer hand bags or high end electronics are carefully watched over on eBay and removed at the slightest chance of being fake.

If a buyer has any reason to believe a product is not authentic they can open a dispute and 100% guaranteed they will get a refund... They do have to return the item to you but who knows if it's used or what condition it's in after they receive it.

What income range is an ebay expert dwelling in?
Well there are plenty of so called "experts" out there that hardly make any money at all on eBay. In fact, I would say that a lot of eBay "experts" make more money teaching how to sell on eBay than actually selling on eBay.

Making eBay your full time job takes a lot of work, more work than it was worth it for me to do it full time so that's why I teach it instead.

My biggest net profit month was $6000, and that was gross sales of over $50,000 and all of the products were being purchased and fulfilled by myself. It was not by any means a dream in my opinion.

Most eBay sellers that do this full time either A. manufacturer their own niche products to get a high profit per sale, B. buy products in large bulk amounts at huge discounts and source a fulfillment company or hire workers to handle the orders, or C. put a lot of time and effort into reselling or fulfillment themselves.

The thing about eBay to me is that most of the ways people "teach" making money on eBay is all "active" income and eBay becomes very similar to having a job... very little of it is "passive" income which in my opinion is what all business owners should be working towards.

I'm not saying that their aren't passive ways of generating income on eBay, but most sellers aren't successful when implementing those strategies.

Hi, I am at my wit's end. I have recently had a listing removed by Egay and was given a selling restriction for 30 days. My fb score is 457 and am a power seller. I was selling a variety of items, the item in question were replicas, but I had sold them successfully to many buyers. How can I go around this so I can continue to sell? I can"t wait 30 days to make money, this is my only source of income?
Thank you for any help you can give. :)
Work with trust and safety department as much as you can. Keep calling and try to talk to the higher ups until you get someone who is able to pull strings for you.

Tell them you were unaware the item was a replica and try to get yourself out of the situation, but I doubt that restriction is coming off.

I recommend you pursue multiple seller accounts, I have a dozen or so accounts with 100+ feedback just sitting around not selling items in case certain id's are restricted...

Also, when you get powerseller/TRS with your accounts, focus on selling only legitimate items on that account, and sell replicas/questionable items on another account.

I have created a brand new eBay account and Paypal with a new bank and all (since my last had a bad mishap), and I have a feedback score of (1). I would like to know how difficult it will be for me to get into eBay sales. By this, I mean how difficult will it be to sell considering people will see me as a new seller, and won't want to take a risk.

Thank you in advance, and I look forward to hearing your input. :D
It depends on your pricing. If you have a good product and competitive pricing buyers can't resist. eBay is a bargain marketplace and if you offer the right products at the right price feedback score becomes second in importance as buyers want to take advantage of your offer.

That being said, feedback score and reputation definitely help your sales. One thing you can do is purchase a number of 1 cent auctions on eBay and build your feedback score through buying. The number next to your name will increase (although if they click on that number they will see that most of your feedback came through buying)

Regardless, having 100 buyer feedback and 0 seller feedback is still much better than having only 1 seller feedback and 0 buyer feedback.

How do I get my selling limitations lifted?
Depends on which limit you are at..

The first limit is super easy to remove, just add your bank info and contact info
Second limit is lifted through adding a little bit more contact information and verifying something.
3rd limit is the difficult one that eBay has no "exact" numbers on... I think it's 50-100 listings per month and something like $1-3k in sales.

That one can only be lifted by continuously receiving positive feedback and high DSR's on your sales. They won't divulge exactly how much feedback or transactions you need to have that lifted.

I imagine that if you have any disputes this "limit" is also extended for a period of time until you resolve them and don't have any more disputes for a while.

Some limits are category specific (ie you can only list 100 items in a category per month) and I don't know how to remove those. I have had an account at gold powerseller status with top rated badge and still had category restrictions placed on me so it's really strange... It's like some of eBay's rules are so ridiculous.

Hi

I have noticed a seller recently over the past couple of months who has had a lot of negative feedback but the day/couple of days after it has vanished. This feedback also hasn't been revised (as the same number of revisions is always the same). Some of these comments are very unlikely to be revised anyway. For example I looked at it a few days ago and there were six negatives in one day and when I look a couple of days later bam...every one has gone and their score has gone back up to 100% this has been happening over the past three months I would say and there have been loads of negative feedbacks just removed and not one revised, I can't help being curious as to how this could have happened, ebay are unlikely to have removed that many and some of the comments there were none that violated ebay's policies, any idea as to how this is being done?

Cheers
Most likely it was one of the reasons below.. I haven't heard of any round about methods of removing negatives. Usually it's just easier for me to offer partial refunds to my buyers in exchange for feedback revision if they are unhappy with the transaction.

eBay may remove or adjust Feedback ratings or comments if:
The Feedback contains inappropriate comments, or violates one of our Feedback policies.
At the time the item ended or the Feedback was left, either member participating in the transaction was unable to form a legally binding contract.
Either member provided eBay with an email address that is invalid, and that member could not be contacted at the time of the transaction. See our false or missing contact information policy.
A buyer mistakenly leaves negative or neutral Feedback for the wrong seller, informs eBay of the error, and has left the same Feedback for the intended seller.
A member is suspended by eBay for behavior that we've determined is malicious enough to warrant removing all the negative and neutral Feedback they've left for sellers. Note: If a member is suspended within 90 days of registration, all Feedback left by that member is removed.
eBay is provided with a valid court order requesting Feedback removal.
A buyer fails to respond to a reminder about an unpaid item and the unpaid item is recorded on their account.
A buyer's communication within the Resolution Center undermines the purpose of the unpaid item process and the eBay Feedback system. For example, if a buyer responds to an unpaid item reminder with nonsense text simply to retain the ability to leave Feedback for a seller.
eBay determines at a later date that the seller met the requirements for an automatic 5-star detailed seller rating for the shipping and handling charges category. In these instances, we may adjust the rating to 5 stars.
A buyer leaves a seller negative or neutral Feedback that refers to customs delays or customs fees (see below).

Cheapest price for an iphone 4s?

Not sure what you are asking... Are you referring to the cheapest you can buy an iphone 4s on eBay?

Check the completed listings.. search for iphone 4s on eBay then select "show only: completed listings" in the left hand navigation.

You should be able to see what the "cheap" phones are selling for there.

Keep in mind that only means a bidder won the auction/listing... it doesn't take into consideration buyers that don't send payment or illegitimate sellers selling fake/illegal products.

I have multiple ebay user ID's... you can register as many ebay ids as you want as long as you have multiple email addresses.

I'm not sure about paypal accounts, I've never had the need to create multiple. You could create a business account and then a premier account (1 in the name of a business like a sole proprietor or llc) the other in your name.

How long have you been on ebay? I've been on ebay since 2005.
2002, almost 10 years now.
my ebay account has been limited, it's been over a year since they limited it, how can i remove this limit?
What type of limit are you getting? All accounts will have seller limits enforced on them until they reach a certain selling limit. I have one account that is a Top Rated Seller that still has seller limits, however they are quite high.
