How many powersellers do you have?

Thanks for the vouch Toxhicide, I appreciate it. I have built a couple powersellers, but I'm not sure if they're powersellers anymore because some accounts have been inactive and you need to clear a certain a volume to remain a powerseller.

When do you believe Ebay will stop stealing their own affilates that generate thousands of dollars to Ebay while paid about 2% to 5% instead of the 50% since the QPC was implemented?

QPC will probably remain implemented as long as there is reasonable incentive for the affiliates to keep on promoting. Just as in any affiliate network, the pareeto principle applies, where the minority drives most of the traffic.

eBay seems to give these "superstar affiliates" special attention; they get held to a different standard. Whereas the normal affiliate usually sees their quality score go down as they drive more traffic, superstar affiliates don't get affected as much.

eBay isn't afraid about losing the normal affiliate; as long as they retain the cream of the crop, they won't lose any sleep at night.

i have a new USA ebay seller account, what is the limitation for it? How many items can i list at the beginning?

I got some stuff to sell mainly softwares but i dont where to start or have the time. Where can i find ebay merchants in bulk to help me sell. i got a consumer softwares which will sell in bulk.

@Saralee - The selling limit for a new account is usually 10 items or XXX amount of sales initially. You want to start off slowly with selling a couple items at a time as large sales can limit your account.

@Bookmarc - If you have software that you're looking to clear out, it really depends on the brand of the software. Say that you're stuck with an inventory of microsoft goods because you can't sell it on eBay successfully - go ahead and clear the remaining of your inventory on craigslist. However, if you're talking about a business partnership, PM me and we can discuss that in private. I have a network of people that would be interested in participating in a JV.

I'm not exactly sure how eBay store listings work but as far as Keywords, it is either time sensitive or based on how much reputation you have (powersellers get ranked higher).

If you want to embed pictures into the listing, the most popular solution would be to use Auctiva, available at www.auctiva.com. Auctiva is also great at customization your shop template; they are the leading solution in that feature.

If your account is not limited and you have your SSN and all your personal information attached, the account won't go down easily. However, whether or not your PayPal gets locked depends on a lot of things.

- What are you selling? If you're selling branded VERO goods, your account will go down faster
- How much volume are you selling? If you're selling a lot of volume, then risks are higher that you'll get limited.
If you get a pre-07 PayPal account, you can attach other merchants onto your account.

Well, I'm not an ebay expert by any means so that's all you bro. I do have some pretty sweet templates for tutorials I've saved over the years. You could base your tutorial structure on my template if you like it ( I have a few of them) - It's free obviously, just PM me if ya want a few to get ideas from.

This is broad...but how do I go about finding a legit wholesale source?


Simply searching "product name + wholesale" will only return middlemen and over-saturated wholesalers. Trade websites also seem to only have products that can't beat the lowest eBay price. How do people find their sources for a product that they can sell at a low enough price so they can actually compete on eBay? In other words, what's the right approach to finding a lucrative source? Searching through pages and pages? A business trip? Trade shows?

Whenever I do find a source that's somewhat lucrative, it's because someone mentioned it to me directly. I go to the supplier's site, and I think to myself..."how the hell is anyone supposed to find out about this site in the first place?"

I guess that can also be a good thing as well to keep out the competition...

Also, how much of an advantage would the seller have by having the lowest priced item? I know products don't always sell for the lowest price, but is it that much of an advantage?

1) Can you explain the merchant accounts a little more? I have a pre-97 account.

2) How do you pick items to sell?

@LoveStain: If you want a legitimate wholesale product, you're probably going to have to compete in a niche because eBay is oversaturated with replicas and those drive the market value down for anybody trying to compete in a branded good. Otherwise, if you want to compete in the branded section, find items at liquidators or closeouts.

@3Infidels: Merchant accounts are alternative payment processors. On those pre accounts, they give you the option to add a merchant account whereas newer eBay accounts don't have the option.

Chances are when you're dealing with genuine products, you need to purchase in a good quantity to make a profit.

If you sell something in the US and have it drop shipped from China, is there any kind of import fee, tax, or tarriff? Will the package get stopped by Customs?
