Are YOU worried with U.S. falling currency rate?

Today a report came out saying consumer confidence in the U.S.A. has risen to the highest level since September 2008. We will have to see if it continues to be strong.

I think it would be best for those living outside the U.S. to discount the U.S. currency by about 5-8% for every year from now on. That way, you can try to estimate your income at a more conservative level and be prepared for a slump.

I live in India and am pretty anxious about the falling exchange rate as well. All these bailouts sound great but they cannot possibly be good for the long run. I read an article at a pretty reputed investing information resource in the U.S. that the bailouts are like mattresses pushed under broken buildings to make them stand straight or something like that...

I guess hope for the best but I think it is going to be on a decline....I hope I am wrong.

This article came out 2 years ago. Reading it 2 years ago, you will think this guy is completely nuts but now days you can not discredit anything. He accurately predicted the destruction of the soviet union years before it happened. Now, he is predicting the same for United States. Something to keep in mind. You never know what will happen with the way things are going. Big government only brings big trouble for everyone. You see what is happening in Arizona, soon it will be happening everywhere and there might be ID cards. Your internet will be checked and you will be monitored. I lived through similar things as that in the former Soviet Union and it was misarable live. All business was done underground and bribes where the norm. I think since all the guys here are black hat this type of mentality will help you survive. Thinking outside the borders will help quite a bit. Be prepared for the worse and hope for the best.

I do no want to be grim but this is the way things are and nothing you can do with it. All empires fall and things change. Just be prepared to change with it. I spend my time training with Russian Special Forces and they are prepared for pretty much everything.

Here is the article:

The elites have been planning the collapse of the American dollar for dozens of years. The goal is to have the Amero come in just like the Euro... ultimately a one world government where the power elite control everything.

I second that, people who think it's better to keep their investments in gold, etc need to realize this:

When shit REALLY goes down, when pure chaos / hyperinflation / shortage of everything breaks out, you're FUCKED regardless if you have a shit load of US currency, GOLD, etc --> because you CAN'T EAT either one of those

Here's a quick story, down to the point, my grandma told me about (I was born in Russia, Siberian part of it)... during WWII when there was shortage of everything, and money was worthless, the things we take for granted, were more valuable than gold, literally. My grandma had a big house in the village and she had TONS of pillows... which were in shortage!... ya pillows, all relatives/guests would offer to trade their cash / cows / crop / whatever in exchange for a comfy pillow to sleep on.

I know, it's lame right, but really, when hell breaks out tons of cash or gold won't help you feed your kids

I also maintain that if the U.S. economy does really tank, I mean really tank, there will be anarchy in the streets of that country and probably dozens more, thats why owning a little self sufficient acreage somewhere is a good investment. Montana!!

Yeah... exactly.

Just like Germany's hyperinflation after World War 1.
They were actually burning their money for heat instead as it's cheaper than wood.

P.S: I simply love the smell of money. Is there a money perfume? LoL.

Black seng u've mentioned that the exchange rate was : US$1 - S$1.7 about a year ago? i guess this was the rate atleast 3 years ago! i share the same pain like you, having to see sgd getting stronger while usd goes weaker by day. Well, all i can say is stop worrying about the stuffs that we cannot control of, we will take control of the things that we are capable of.>> improving sales from our internet biz / earnings.

the us dollar goes down because of our trade imbalances & because the fed is intentionally devaluing it. The dollar needs to go down because it makes exports cheaper and alleviates the trade imbalances we have.

This means gold, oil and commodities go up.

Money moves. It never goes away. It just moves - and we need to follow it.

When currencies lose value commodities almost always go up. Don't focus on the loss of the value of the us dollar but focus on the gain in commodity prices.

my $.02 on the matter.

$0.02 = $ 0.01 :(

I seriously don't understand why you think USD is getting weaker.

You are talking about a currency pair such as cable - GBP/USD, or fiber EUR/USD.

But you are talking about it in such a way that 1.5 > 1.3 = stronger euro + weaker USD. This is completely wrong. Do the maths.

To get a smaller number how does the number on top have to change?
In the GBPUSD example, GBP would have to get weaker to make a shift from 1.5>1.3 OR

To get a smaller number how does the number on the bottom have to change?
In the GBPUSD example, USD would have to get BIGGER to make a shift from 1.5>1.3

You guys are nonsensical and will never make any money if you cannot do simple arithmetic.

I have even showed you a page of the USD INDEX which shows it getting stronger!

It just shows no one has the time to read a thread properly and gain valuable information, either that or the average IQ on this board is significantly lower than expected.

I hope this helps you see your errors.

TL: DR = Read it, don't be lazy. I bet you read this bit first too...

Regards,

Phil

As long as the USD stays strong to GBP & EUR, I don't really mind what else goes around (even though many currencies are interlinked, floating & fixed) - Looking at the Greek crisis.....The EUR may just well go tits up depending if the IMF and .DE releases funds to them. My holiday to Spain will be a lot cheaper than expected if the EUR just comes pummeling down.

PS. I'm not from the US :)

Central banking and fiat currency have created a ticking time bomb out of most of the world's currencies. The banking cartel world wide wants the nations to use bills backed by nothing, cranked out at will and at interest by the bankers. They clean up on the interest payments and other debt securities received when the economies are on the way up, and when they collapse due to monetary hyperinflation and over-extended debt, they clean up buying up all the hard assets that get sold at fire sale prices.

There are only five countries left on earth that don't use central banks/fiat money---Venazuela, Syria, Iran, Sudan and North Korea. Yeah, each may have serious problems, but they are hardly the only radical states or dictatorships in the world. Guess which countries get the bulk of the belligerent invective for whatever reason, by the world community? Yup, those five. The bankers can't stand it that there are places where their tentacles don't yet reach. So the puppet nations they control beat them up without end. They want to control and then collapse all the world's currencies, so they can loot them all.

The way I see it: A weak American Dollar at this time is a good thing. Foreign countries and developing nations see their money as stronger and buy more American products. This creates demand and thus more jobs. The US $ will then recover and the roller coaster comes to a halt until the next ride. A great example is here in the Philippines there are ALOT more American products in the malls. My only question about it is if they are shipped to the U.S. and then here or directly from China.

China has been dumping US bonds. and is no longer the largest holder. Japan now has the largest USD holding.

Where are you getting this information? I looked this up at the Treasury's website and China was the largest holder back in February. (That is the last time they updated their report)

the way i see it:
More people lose their jobs= more people at home on the internet+more people using credit cards=more money in my pocket.

Worst economy in my life time is the most financially successful years of my life.

So weak dollar or not i really dont care, it's sad to see people losing their jobs but that's life i guess.

In fact I'm glad this happend LMAO, New home prices where im at dramatically fell. A home that costed $500,000 now i am going to buy for around $220,000.

Damn, that's good information. I just learnt something new today! Never thought of that.

You are not allowed to post Conspiracy Theories here.

Since I concede - it is no longer a conspiracy theory.
It is now an argument validated by adoptation and evidence.

Sorry, you're wrong;

More jobs in Philippines are created when the USD is higher because it buys more. What is happening there now is Americanization - your addiction to
American products that will keep you in debt ...because the entire American
economy is based on debt.

And before you jump in - no, not all countries have debt-based economies.
