Are you happy?

I have met the doctor, but now I have lost trust in psychiatrists already. All they do is give medicine which have 100+ side effects. I'm ok, I don't need a doctor. I see the doctor and think, are you really happy treating people. Happiness doesn't comes with pills.

I mean, there is no point in doing anything, no goals worth achieving. Or I simply mean, there is nothing that makes me happy.

I feel like you are just looking for attention. Dont mean to hate, but you probarbly already have a lot of things materially and emotionally and you are just not grateful for anything. Know dat, been there.

I am happy with my life but not satisfied for my earnings... I want to earn more...

When I feel down I watch videos on YouTube of starving kids and natural disasters.

Sure my life could be better, but shit could be worse.

Best comment ever. I agree and will elaborate a bit hoping it's somewhat useful...

Life *IS* pointless, always have been always will be, no matter what "illumination" the last guru will try to sell you... Metaphorically or packaged in a convenient book / course / e-something... ;) The only difference to come to the question of your topic is: how will I make the most out of this "pointless thing"?

First try to maintain a balanced view that gives you some perspective: some say you should only try to look at those who accomplished "more" and while sticking to a self-improvement motto certainly deserves credit solely adhering to it would -in general- be a catastrophic mistake since in most cases it just ends up making you you a sad, selfish and lone individual developing a growing disconnect with the outside world and eventually mankind at large...

In second instance shut down the internet as you seem to imply, meet as suggested new people, attend a class with real people, challenge yourself by breaking out of your comfort zone: take a class in cooking if you've never done it, in salsa if you've never danced, learn a foreign language or whatever else, you get the picture...

Lastly sometimes our body tends to go a bit nuts and create an imbalance of certain chemicals that keep us OK and no "pseudo-science" like psychology can fix this even though it seems in the common perception a pretty underestimated cause, so it's certainly worth keeping a visit to a doctor in mind at least as a last resort should nothing else work.

The bottom line is that it's not about fabricating a sense in life that's a very subjective (and highly questionable...) exercise but creating enough alternatives to enjoy your "sentient time", if you will... Good luck!

No, I am not really, because of my some personal issues. But what is happiness, I am not looking for it anymore. At least I still have some goals and hobbies, interests. I still live through them.

I feel you man , we all been there ,

Sometimes there is nothing you can do but face the reality , I know it's hard but it will pass trust me , time will heal everything eventually

Consider jazzc's suggestion

i would recommend travelling to asia. people have low income which will make you appreciate your situation. with travelling you meet lots of people. i never volunteered but i gues it will do you good. its all about getting to know diffirent kinds of viewpoints of people.

To me it sounds like you have depression. Try to take some time to yourself and think about what it is that is making you feel that way - maybe there is a root cause - like not having enough money for instance - if you can establish what is making you feel like that and acknowledge it then you can work towards it and that should make you happy.

If you really can't pinpoint why you feel that way then I agree that you should go and see a psychiatrist - or go to your doctor and they will refer you to the right person.

Think less. Just THINK LESS! Read Eckhart Tolles "Power Of Now". Really. Three years ago I find myself thinking about really sad and dark thoughts - life is pointless, there's no meaning etc. Then I Googled "how to stop thinking" and somehow found his book. I have red it 3 times now.

Basically your main goal is to take every moment AS IT IS. I need to gave up resistance to "life" (all the situation that happen to you) because it will cause suffering.

Do you find yourself thinking about past and wondering in the future all the time?

Get down your local boozer, there is happiness in the bottom of a pint glass.

Life is never pointless .. you need to work with mind on these days .. and use now new unique skill for run your life..

I used to be like you, depressed as fuck, or so i thought.. Close friends kept telling me to go see a psychologist, i never listened, and here i'm today, doing good and left that behind me long ago.

I like this weekend threads.

The last shit list thread has basically overcome any cool suicide or begging threads we'll get this weekend. BHW needs a "Thread of the week" thread. There's always at least one good one.

A few things that I'll mention here; and this might sound strange.

Do you watch porn or masturbate?
This is a huge problem for many people, as we lose our energy when we release, and on top of that. We have to go through an intensive process to reproduce our semen, which takes a tremendous amount of energy, vitamins, minerals, nutrients. Everything the body needs to function correctly and more so specifically, your brain's minerals that it would otherwise use for behavior chemicals, etc.

I was very unhappy for most of my life until I learned about this, and eventually stopped. This single thing gave me my life back.

2. Your diet and environment might be affecting you as well. Pay close attention if you are not already.

3. Try Yoga. ;) Everyone else doesn't love themselves either, and most people are just superficially happy. Not existing in true happiness. Seems like this is the darkness that you're needing to attain a comprehension of light. It's a natural process too, to feel like this before you find your happiness.

There are other existences that are very fulfilling, which are waiting for you if you choose to explore them.

Life is not pointless, it's just a matter that we get lost along the way before we find ourselves.
I spent my entire life like that, not knowing that what I was searching for was inside of me. Self love.

Take care friend.

Whenever difficult worry worries me more than it needs to, then I pretend to be happy (I convince myself, first, that all the worries are no more) and it makes me happy in a short time. :) I'm happy that my mind listens to me more often than not. It's like a pet dog who is very happy when I give it special attention when it needs it the most.

Then finding solutions become much easier and possible. With a very worried mind, they (worries) become more worrisome, though many times the mind picks up the right solutions on its own, and without bothering me.

You got to patiently train your pet dog so that it understands you better... the same is with the mind.
