Are .XYZ Domains quickly becoming the next .com ? $$$$

Accord to Negari's words xyz extension was created to appeal to the NEW GENERATIONS that have recently joined the web or will be joining the web in the NEAR future.. And that is the near future reality that some but not all .com and old TLD .com holders haven't accepted yet, notice I said some not all.
Old stingy, selfish and speculative .com DInaosurs holding on their .com's would never see what is changing until it is too late..

Times change, facts turn into lies, Massive likes turn into total dislikes, Old good stuff is replaced for new better adaptive stuff.

In fact I think a lot of new comers to the web Never have had the opportunity that I certainly had, to buy some really valuable .com's seven or eight years ago..

What about the new entrepreneurs who try dozens of times on godaddy everyday to fin that their dreamed domain is taken? and finally give up and end with a Useless .com domain name like -->> The-best-web-designer..com is not that ridiculous, unfair and humiliating? Then you go and lokk for that dreamed domain and guess what.. YOU REALIZE that valuable .com is listed for sale and/or parked for 10.000 usd or even more? That is not fair, and thats why the ICCANN and most heavy web companies: Google included have look ahead in the future and have decided to boost some new tlds, WHY because time passes, people changes and let's face it, even some of us are quite old compared to our cousins and nephews who are not afraid of.. Posting live videos on the web of their own faces, they are comfortable talking in front of cameras, they record and share their worst failures, they are not afraid of changes they WANT a change! They want a chance on the web... and .com chance is long gone unless you ARE a bad shark with a heavy wallet..

Imagine you are an Y Generation entrepreneur that simply loves Apps and you want to register DronesStore.com- GO try the extensions.. what happened ALL are long gone... does he deserve something like the-best-drone-store.com? because IT IS .com!!! or he shoudl try and register a new tld like .XYZ?
WHAT would you go for??

What some well in-sighted web entrepreneurs realized is that NEW COMERS to the web wont and do not give a damn about .coms They care about their ideas, the changes they can make and the new experiences.. SIMPLE RIGHT?

Believe it or not, not only .xz but new extensions will turn up side down the domains world, and that is not nly me saying that.. LOOK around... obviously same as history have taught us dozens of times a lot of those that did not ADAPT on time to changes, will simply dissapear or see the value of their assets simply vanish with time... unless they open their minds and quickly adapt to changes.. and we all know well that anything moves and changes faster than the WEB!

Why do you need a lame generic name for a website? There are a ton of different words and phrases from all the Latin based languages that can be used for a company. As well as quality variations.

I found a nice variation of Miami hotel by adding a french word to the beginning that could be used for the name of a hotel.

So how wI'll people not go to my hotel if it was quality just by having a .com instead of .xyz?

Lol scare tactics.

So what you're saying is Google is going to give up Google.com and switch to Google.xyz? And then Amazon, Walmart and every other major corporation will follow?

Give me a break.

No one cares what this new generation is doing. They do a lot of stupid things too - like putting their lives online for everyone to see. Does that mean that everyone should do it? Does that mean we're afraid of change bc we don't do it?

As stated before, your domain extension means diddly.

Oh, and here's a couple of interesting articles I found:

So tell us again how it's going to replace .com.

.xyz it sounds like a bit of a nonsensical extension to me. Not sure if I'd ever purchase a domain like that.

It seems like a lot of people are abusing .xyz domains, but also control measures are being taken. We understand that a lot of people are taking advantage of cheap or low cost domain extensions that will always be an issue.

This is not a domain issue directly related as far I can see but I understand that things like that happened to every extension so far .coms, .nets and .info included. This for me appears as some people afraid of seeing .xyz domains turning and becoming so popular compared to any other new tld. Over 1.3 million registrations in 1 under yr approx. In the other hand I think .XYZ did not care much about how they got to that big amount of domains sold but they just went and lowered prices so much for domain registrars. It is a market strategy but a risky one I would say since some people would perceive .xyz's as a lower cost domain.

I don't care what domain extension is popular and neither does anyone on BHW. Branding is what is important if you can't make a good brand name since the one you want is already taken on .com, having a .xyz isn't going to help.

No OP, I'm afraid of primates. I am genuinely terrified of them. I see them and I want to puke, piss myself and run like hell all at the same time. I have a real phobia of them. Seeing a domain extension get popular does not invoke the same feeling for me. It does provoke the feeling of eye rolling though. Genuine eye rolling.

It doesn't matter how your domain ends. It doesn't matter if .xyz is the new .com. Are you still making money off of your website? Will people stop going to a .com because it's not a .xyz or vice versa? No. As long as your website does what's important - whatever that is - how it ends doesn't matter.

Google giving credence to .xyz and ranking them in the search engines doesn't matter, especially since some of us on here either don't rely on Google for shit (I know I don't) or knows how to do SEO. The popularity of .xyz doesn't matter, as what's popular isn't always a good idea. Need me to back that fact up? Sure: just take a look at all of human history.

I think we're flogging a dead horse now. Thread closed.
