Platforms keeping users inside is real but it does not make websites less important, it makes them more important as your home base. social media accounts get banned, reach gets throttled, algorithms change overnight. you don't own any of that. your website is the only digital asset you actually control.
The smart play is use platforms to drive traffic but always push people back to your own site. email list, own domain, own data. anyone building their entire business on instagram or tiktok is one policy change away from losing everything. websites are not dying, rented audiences are just getting riskier.

Social platforms are definitely keeping users longer, but owning a website is still very valuable because it’s the only asset you fully control. Social media can change algorithms or restrict reach anytime, while a website builds long-term SEO traffic and brand authority. The best approach today is not either/or, but combining both. Use social platforms for reach and your website for stability and conversions.

while i believe there is still much value in websites they r no longer the sole source for building audiences. While social media networkks can be used to reach out nd engage audiences, websites provide u the flexibility to own ur content nd brand. The best way forward would be to not ignore one while relying on the other but to use each platfform based on its strengths.
