Actually, most of these established channels don’t have a ‘Join’ button, which makes me wonder whether they’re monetized or not.

analog horror can def get monetized if u keep it clean with no graphic violence or extreme shock stuff. youtube mostly checks for ad-friendly vibes so as long as the content leans spooky not disturbing ur good. seen channels in that niche pull solid views and adsense $$ if they keep it chill and follow tos

Some do get monetized, but it depends on how graphic the content is and if it follows YouTube’s advertiser-friendly rules. If it avoids gore and sticks to suspense, it has a better chance.

No one can confirm whether they are monetized or not except the channel owner.

as long as your creating content that is following the guidelines of youtube, you can get monetized. so read through the youtube policies, community guideline rules etc.
 
This niche can be tricky with AdSense. YouTube's guidelines on scary or disturbing content are strict for advertisers. You might get approved, but often ads are limited or the channel gets demonetized if the content is too intense. Most channels that thrive here eventually look at direct sponsorships or merch to make real money, not just AdSense. It's definitely not a guarantee for easy AdSense earnings.
