Are Backlinks Really Dead

If you're going to buy backlinks, don't buy them from a forum like this one. Manually search for established websites in the desired niche and contact them about buying a link.
While I agree 100% that you can and should "manually search for established websites in the desired niche and contact them about buying a link", I disagree with your assessment about buying links from BHW. The reason I do disagree with your assessment, is that the GOOD sellers of links on BHW will "manually search for established websites in the desired niche and contact them about buying a link". Bad seller's may not, but good sellers will.

@MisterF, @WebMinati, @hardcorebiker, @Finn, @Topiano, @The SEO, @t0mmy, and surely many, many others would agree that this IS their practice.

So the question becomes, what is more of a value to your time?

Over a decade ago, I spent a few years in an electrical apprenticeship in which I learned about Ohm's Law, Wattage, Amperage, how to wire an electrical panel, replace receptacles, etc. I still remember how to do most of what I learned back then, and can still do it. I recently installed a ceiling fan in my kitchen and had fun doing it! It brought me back to a fun part of my life and when I turned on the lights of the fan and watched the blades rotate around, I'll admit, there was a sense of pride and accomplishment on my face after having done that. That being said, I've got absolutely no problem with hiring a professional to do the same thing. In fact, though I like to say that my ceiling fan job is perfect, there's a chance that it may not be. Or maybe it is. Who knows? My point is, that's what you get when you hire a professional to do the job. Someone who's actively doing the very same thing you suggested doing yourself, but they do it on a daily basis and for multiple niches. The professional's experience level, be it with hanging ceiling fans or blogger outreach, likely trumps that of my own. Sure, I can contact the bloggers, but I may not be as good a negotiator, or perhaps may not think to ask a question that should be asked, or a whole host of other things.

So yes, I absolutely agree with you. We should all be doing this, as website owners. BUT... If you can hire a quality professional to do the service, then that's what they're there for. We just need to ensure our due-diligence is done, so we know who those professionals are, as in this industry, there are a ton of impostors.

I'm no SEO professional, but I ask questions. Lots of them. I make it a point to learn something about SEO, every single day. Even if I ever do get to the point to where I feel I know it all (haha doubtful), I'll still hire professionals (or train some to become my own personal professionals), because I don't want to spend my time doing outreach. I'd rather be focused on my IPAs (income-producing activities).

Learn the rules do not take that long. Mastering the game is whole different story.
Good input.

Do backlinks work anymore? Some claim to be able to get DA of 30 or higher. Thoughts?

Thread moved to a more suitable sub forum as this isn't an Introduction.

1) Of course, backlinks still work and until Google goes 100% paid ads they will continue to do so.

2) We often deliver links and guest posts on DR30, DR40, DR50 and higher sites. Not a claim, it's a fact.

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/probably-the-best-genuine-outreach-youll-ever-invest-in-the-real-deal.1238555/post-13425991
We've delivered onto DR83 and DR 84 this past couple of weeks.

Backlinks are the meat and potatoes of google ranking.

Except not all links work. How you link, when you link, how much you link are all factors. Links with no justifiable source, like 1 million links suddenly blasted, don't work. Whereas a single legit link from an authoritative source could mean a high authority.

Why would I pay someone to do outreach for me? That would only make sense if I was making SERIOUS bank and had so many different sites on the go that delegating would make more money than doing. I can tell by this guy's post/question that he is not at that level.

You can buy all the backlinks you want on BHW etc. but you're going to get slapped eventually. A "good seller" might give you links that take longer to get you penalized than a bad seller, but you'll always lose in the end. I would never ever buy links from sites whose sole purpose is to provide links. It's ridiculous. If you don't think Google has many many many employees searching these forums and probably buying links from sellers to expose the sites within their PBNs etc. etc. then you are obviously willing to take a lot more risk than me.

100% NOT TRUE.

I have so many websites (lead gen related) that get links from so many places that have nothing to do with the niche or city that I am targeting, this whole topical thing is just another SEO myth like content is king or blackhat doesn't work anymore...

@OP of course backlinks still work and they will work for years to come.

The site doesn't have to be relevant to boost your rankings, but a relevant link is better than one that isn't. And I think over the next few years that relevancy will start to be a lot more important because relevant links are harder to get and speak more to the value of your site/page/content.

I hear you and I do believe that there are quite a few Google employees on here doing just that. I think you're missing what I'm saying. Whether you purchase from a service that performs manual outreach or you yourself perform manual outreach, there's a chance that both you and the seller may manually outreach the same website, thus making their efforts no different than your efforts if said site gets targeted by Google. Manual outreach is manual outreach, regardless of who does it. Now if the seller isn't doing manual outreach and instead just fires up some software or uses PBNs (Public / "Private" Blog Networks) or some other shady tactic that's not legitimate outreach, then chances are that you're working with the wrong seller.

understanding your competition is the answer

get scrape box see what they got then beat their links

that easy.

you scrape links or buy a list.

only other way get into pbn linking .

Backlinks are important. Build them info your money site by tiers. If backlink is very good (check by tools like ahrefs etc.) put it into your money site. If you will find bls wich you dont know the value then put them into your t1 page (can be blog 2.0 or much better your own website).

You can make 301 to your money site and put on this domain part of links - if something will be wrong with them you can allways cancel 301.

No link = no results on most cases, so all other stuff like writing great content is waste of time and money. Manual building is good if you have a lot of time and small ammount of websites but if you know what you are doing manual you should just try to make the same via soft wich will reduce time...

Good luck

O! And remember about anchor ratio!

The site doesn't have to be relevant to boost your rankings, but a relevant link is better than one that isn't.

If you make claims like that you need to have data to back that up, (do you have some?) Just because Google's own Goebles John Meuller says that it is or one of those google mouthpieces like searchengineland or MOZ (you know those places that love the content is king for rankings mantra?) doesn't make it so.

SEO is quite simple, do your on-page like H1 and tags and all that jazz and then have great backlinks pointing to it...

That is it and that has always been it and if you don't believe me? Do some searches in the tech niches (like PC, Windows, programming and such) and you will see what type of garbage is ranking the first page.

If you want to rank all you have to do is read the SERP's for your keywords, it will tell you exactly what you need to rank.

Do backlinks work anymore? How about X-Rummer or SENuke? Looking for opinions on backlinks and if they are worth my time. I am trying to figure out the best way to market my niche garden site - besides blogging and FB Ads? I have read a lot here on BHW about backlinks. Some claim to be able to get DA of 30 or higher. Thoughts?
Backlinks absolutely do still work and still hold value, however, your site is made up of more than just a good couple of links.

Your content & structure play a huge part, if not done correctly, your links may become pointless.

Also, I would advise staying away from sellers who offer the world for $5. By that I mean those people who offer 1000 links for $5 on Fiverr and Forums etc as those links will probably do more damage than good.

Look for sites within your niche and get in contact with them, discuss potential linking opportunities.

I think backlinks are still an integral part of ranking sites.

Quality over quantity seems to be the key these days.

Also, real quality content on higher authority sites will also earn you social signals and bring in some traffic, which is always a big plus.

Don't use xrummer or senuke on your money site.
Find some good backlinks in your niche and you will see what is the power of the good links

Friend, I would suggest you do well research about backlinks, DA, PA, Frontpage links, PBN all that stuff, and then buy links. Be careful note that "All that glitters is not gold ".
Check for spam links.

And yes BHW is a place like no other, here you will find one of the most innovative, skilled and professional service providers, at the same time you also be careful in choosing right backlinks for your money site.

Ideally, you want to get real "Guest Posts" on High DA niche specific sites which do not allow just anyone to sign up and post a spun article.
