We all see the content that @Zwielicht posts and his stuff would make Shakespeare ask Z to mentor him.

It's well past impressive and surely takes a bunch of time and energy. As a staff member his posts and threads make our lives easier, and by easier, his shares eliminate a lot of PMs and support tickets. They are not only informational and spot on, they are written like a person who has a doctorate in the English language.

But there is another side to him, and I'm going to share a little bit of that.

For starters, he and I are friends, and I don't mean internet buddies but him and his wife are dear friends. We talk often, call and text often and share our lives on levels only friends do.

If I need anything he is there.
If I want to know something he is there.
If I need help researching something he is there.

And you know what he expects in return?

Nothing at all. He gives from his heart as does his wife when it comes to our relationship.

That, Ladies and Gentlemen is a true friend.

He will randomly send me a message asking how I'm doing and if it is good he is happy, if I am dealing with something he is all ears and allows me to vent about my issues and problems.

He once offered, and I had to decline, something that is only available to a very few people... something well past nice and something that would take a lot out of him.

He's done hours of research for me, literally hours, for a situation in my life that was above my knowledgebase.

Him and his wife's generosity towards me cannot be measured in any metric that is available now, nor any metric that will ever be available.

And some of the issues I have, he has as well and shares how he deals with things in that arena.

I have so much respect for him and his wife as friends, their knowledge and their ability to communicate that to me.

I don't have any friends that are about the same age as my youngest child, and should not as generational friendship generally does not fly and it is typically a one way street.

With him, there are no street signs saying One Way.

I'm a little up there in age and I can count on my hands about 7 people like that I've had/have in my life and every one of them holds a special place in my heart (yeah, Meanie Mod has a heart). Some I still interact with, some I've lost contact with and some are pushing daisies up.

If you are ever blessed to have someone like that in your life it will be a rare occurrence and something you should cherish.

If you have friends, be like Z, a superstar, a hall of famer and someone that makes others a better person.

I agree, people like Z are rare, rare!

Newer generations may find it hard to relate to these old values.

The hardest thing is to be a man nowadays, everything else is easy.

Z has everything a good person should have, everything!

I like your threads. You are a person who speaks from the hearth. There is no age or anything else for a good friendship, but just the friendship itself. Which is rare. And those who "taste" from it are trully blessed.

Kudos to you and to Z.
