anyone saw major changes on G today?

Interesting. I've seen one of my classified ads come up high, overtaking stuff like hubpages and squidoo and even my number 1 business referrer. I've also seen one of the odd-ball niche sites I'm experimenting with to test the limits of scrapebox spam, come up with a little nibble of traffic.

hmmm .... Maybe.... Google is awarding SPAM... Again! :)

Same here as well! My sites on some keywords ran #1 thru #9 and they are gone, with ads to them I put in from places like olx and oodle taking their place. Nuts!

I wonder if G analyzes the % of where your backlinks come from, if I ran G that's how I would analyze for spammers. Like maybe if they see 80% of profile backlinks or 80% from certain types of blog comments then they slap you? Just an idea. How many people with a truly varied backlinking strategy got slapped in a serious way?
Then people should offer to spam competitors?

Everyone is talking about their sites dropping but what type of sites have taken your place? then it might be easier to figure out what is going on!

This is a good point! We have 6 EMD gaming (in pre-launch stage) sites. The most important one with game release tomorrow just dropped down yesterday (what a disaster :(). But other 5 build with the same methods are still on page 1 and some are #1.

Now - who took our place? EMD sites with .org and .net couple of weeks old! All on first page of Google!

How come? Our site has 3000+ links to domain and .net only 2 links - two pages website with almost no content! PR: n/a, no site map, three paragraphs content and banners. Another one - .org is a bit better - 4 pages, 0 links to domain, PR n/a ans so on.

So I wonder how smart G algorithm could be to move such a sites up and better quality sites nearly out of sight???

Too bad... Could it be nasty competition destroying us or Google bug? Any ideas will be appreciated.

BTW, G webmaster tools looks absolutely ok, but was updated on Feb.12. Dropdown happened on Feb.14. May be we can find out after update.

I don't think that listing our site details will be useful because other 5 sites are ok

A quick update, last night one of my sites that was dropped to page 400+ since mid january came back for half an hour and started ranking for 10 competitive keywords search volume 10000-30000 per month on page 1-3. then dissapeared from the serps.

Here's the weird thing, it wasnt ranking for any of my anchor texts i used on my backlinks it was ranking for the keyword in my domain name plus another word
ie. chicken.com so it would rank for chicken breast or chicken fried.

definately not the keywords i was targetting but if it gets me traffic what the hell, i just just hope they re-appear in the serps again.

i don't know what about you, but after this week + i can say that forums profiles and msgs are not working as good as it worked before.

need to find new strategy.

someone should setup a poll.. something like:

if your site dropped in ranking what kind of seo were you doing

if your site went up in rankins what kind of seo were you doing

that way we can get a general idea what the big G is up to
