anyone saw major changes on G today?

Interesting. I've seen one of my classified ads come up high, overtaking stuff like hubpages and squidoo and even my number 1 business referrer. I've also seen one of the odd-ball niche sites I'm experimenting with to test the limits of scrapebox spam, come up with a little nibble of traffic.

hmmm .... Maybe.... Google is awarding SPAM... Again! :)

Here are a few things I have found in the last couple weeks......two sites exact same niche and exact same keyword. Both sites have similar content updated on the same schedule some pages are exact duplicate content. Both sites DA over 10 years 1 year apart. Site #1 complete white hat link building and is on Page 3 and has been dancing on page 3 for last year. Site #2 DA is one year older and has been page #2 with complete white hat build. October 2010 web 2.0 link pyramids were built Site #1 was built manually with original content on every property and updated. This positioned the site to top of page 2. The same pyramid was built by a service for site #2. Content on this build was made with spun content and not able to update the web 2.0 properties because service provider did not provide log in details. So mid January 2011 both sites have had great positioning moved to page 1 and page 2 at January 15. January 29th both sites reached a high mark. Since Jan 29 site #2 has been dropping. Going through the web 2.0 build on site #2 a couple been flagged as spam and removed and also the live property's remaining Big G has de indexed them but are still live. After filtering through Site #1 build its all good and intact! Also site #1 has been moving up in SERPS since the 29th of Jan 2011. This is probably happening because of all the junk being filtered out by big G. So this is just MY findings and I'm sure everyone will find different results with their sites and data. But my findings are in direct relation to big G's latest algo change regarding Spam and content. Site #2 dropped 6 positions and is on the manual rebuild properties will be updated with original content rather than spun content and in due time I will know for sure of my findings so far.

Thanks 4 the share....

I don't mean to be rude, but have u heard the word, "paragraph" b4?

I am also experiencing same thing. One of my white hat site was in #2 for competitive niche keyword having 800K searches per month. It went to #7 but Backlink in Yahoo is increasing daily....
The is completely whit hat and done nothing even gray hat. I don't understand why Google F**ked my site.

About the EMD, it may be the opposite, having more impact. In my niche, I have seen sites with EMDs arise out of nowhere, while other sites without EMDs are fading from page one. I think EMD has taken on greater importance. Trust me on this one, I have carefully monitored the competition and they have been there for years, and going away because bad domain name. This is huge.

bit of reserach - possibly related to the drop of my clients website. The site dropped on thursday from #1 on page #1 to about #5 on page #2 for a major keyword. This is the same drop I saw back in novmeber having been the authority site for the niche since 2005. Two other keywords have dropped by the same or worse since thurday too. I've studied webmaster tools and backlinks since then and logging into webmaster tools tonight i've noticed that *all* the imbound links have been removed from the section "who links to you". this may or may not be significant, although its damn fishy. I'm praying that they'll all reappear next week sometime and its just a google dance and reindex as i've spent 5 years manually link building with excellent partners within the niche.

maybe something for others to check and see if its happened to them too.

Same happened to one of my websites that had nearly 18,000,000 inbound links showing in Google webmaster. It is quite a popular website with huge audience, and luckily it wasn't affected in any way apart from removal of backlinks in webmaster.

Adding this to the the experiences of other people, I would guess that Google is rebuilding their index. The reasons might be trivial, such as speeding things up, or upgrading Caffeine (which is lets be honest not the best thing they came up with).

Somebody needs to program an algorithm that will put all the changed site positions in it and figure out what those that were demoted have in common and those that were promoted have in common. Sort of a reverse check on g to see what kind of algorithms they're using. Sounds farfectched...

So this is why one of my main sites got fucked recently, thought it was just me!

I'm also unsure about how Google will determine which website holds the original content, and which others are posting a duplicate. It can't be dependent on which website Google crawls first, if this is the case all high PR sites will get all the benefit for content that they are duplicating that's from a low PR site. Google wants to rank the most up-to-date websites and looks for unique content as well as an active website, but not all websites can be blogs (or want to be).

EMD's + adsense with only profile links --> 75% of my sites are slapped by google. It went like this: Ranking fine inside top10, then slapped to page 2,3, then slapped to page 10+ or totally sandboxed.

All the my sites that got slapped have the following characteristics:

- low quality links (profile links)
- high bounce rate
- 99% traffic from only google
- no return visitors or direct traffic
- average time on site very low
- site not updated often/not much activity
- Monetized with adsense
- very high CTR on adsense or outbound links
- 3-10 pages unique content

My other bigger authority sites, my own product salespages or sites regularly updated with content and promoting affiliate stuff are ranking better then ever.

anyone else seeing something like this aswell?

I have around 5000 indexed sites on only emd. I don't track them on an individual level, just a group level, but I have not seen a decline in traffic to any group of my sites, although the individual sites may have changed some. I am light on the backlinking, and use articles, social bookmarking, a few profiles, and social networks.

in mid january all of my websites went from 100+ visitors in a day, to 1-5 visitors a day, and ive been waiting, but its been a month now and i havent seen any jumps in traffic

Except for some reason on one website im ranking #1 in yahoo for very competitive terms, but im only getting maybe 50 people per day because i guess no one really searches yahoo for those terms.

But the weird thing is, i haven't updated that website in over a year.

Well that's no good seeing as im using your tool?! However one of my movie link sites tanked from about 1.5k a day to 200! fucking Googl3 cnuts. This site does not have a high bounce rate (only detectable with Google analytics) is not monetized with adsense, has 1000's of pages, has both direct and returning visitors, has most of the traffic from googl3. I was sandboxed a while ago, and now seem to be back in the same fucking pit. I swear if i see cutts hes getting a bent nose! Costing me money this, and that monopoly doesnt tell you why or what. Just run the web the way they see fit.

i just looked, and only one of my websites still has the hasnt dropped ranking in google.

Heres what i do to the website, add one new post per week, duplicate content copy and pasted from another website and i havent added any new backlinks in over a year.

all of my websites that i have been building consistant backlinks to have went down the toilet. i usually build web 2.0 properties and send profile links to them. but they all have a wide range of different types of backlinks pointing to them.

Everyone is talking abouttheir sites dropping but what type of sites have taken your place? then it might be eaiser to figure out what is going on!

I wonder if G analyzes the % of where your backlinks come from, if I ran G that's how I would analyze for spammers. Like maybe if they see 80% of profile backlinks or 80% from certain types of blog comments then they slap you? Just an idea. How many people with a truly varied backlinking strategy got slapped in a serious way?
