Hey Guys,

I was recently given access to the paid side of Pinterest where you can pay to promote any of your pins. This is a new program as far as I know and have seen. With a $50 adpend I saw 50k impressions for my niche that is also highly targetted by other advertisers. The CTR seems low as it's less than .5% and I haven't seen much of an increase in my site referrals. The pin that I promoted has gained a decent amount of traffic in terms of repins but I'm not seeing much value other than getting a ton of impressions. The pin that I promoted was my second most popular pin before the promotion. According to Pinterest analytics, I did see a big spike in viewers because of this promotion. Is anyone else trying out Pinterest paid ads? What have you seen that works?

I Targeted:
Location: United States
Language: English
Device: All
Gender: All

Is there a not-so popular niche that you can promote for comparison? Pinterest hasn't been keeping their intent secret to become a go-to for big retail brands.

Can you give us more information - link or something else.

I will try Promoted Pins and see how it goes if I get accepted by them. I currently have a business account on Pinterest, I am eligible to buy "sponsored pins"?

I will report back once I've completed another campaign. I plan on doing another $50 campaign for a different niche that I have.

Unfortunately, there is very little data or help out there to assist you with doing or understanding any of this. But I have experience with Facebook and Twitter ads as I do those daily. My campaigns do quite well on those and are considered to be in the top 90% for click through rate when measured against all other ads on Facebook.

For obvious reasons I won't be telling you what keywords I'm using. But here are some of my findings. http://imgur.com/a/7fEEB

In terms of impressions most came from users that have a desktop from my campaign. It also had the lowest CPC. There is a section that tells you by city where your users came from. I found this to be the most interesting aspect. I don't feel comfortable sharing that information with you at this time until I dig further into it and have run a few more campaigns though.

A big difference with Pinterest campaigns to facebook is that you can target like audiences on facebook or target other brands. You are unable to do so with Pinterest. Pinterest at this time is quite limited. For someone such as myself there may be value in getting as many impressions as I did considering the brand I work for struggles with brand awareness. I'm really hoping to team up with some other people so that we can work together by trying new things. So if any of you are infact in this program as well that would be wonderful. Shoot me a PM if you're also interested.

Can you target age?

$0.73 CPC seems a bit high for a broad audience.

Keep us updated OP!

Unfortunately no you cannot target age. Happy to keep you updated. I'm launching another campaign today to test.

If you can share - how did you get access to that?

also what to know how do you get accept to that any business account will be fine?

Is it possible to go into this network with simple personal account, or your account must be business/real US company?
For example aply to the program with personal account with 20k real followers.

I'm having some major success with Pinterest boards and know how to work the system. Start high in CPC but once the board gets popular you start decreasing the CPC to 5 cents. I have over 35% conversion rate coming from Pinterest ads alone.
