My wife is fitness model and we are building her IG. Currently it has 115K followers and she has a few small sponsors. Has paid post for $1100 over the next 3 weeks. We want to grow her followers. If I convert her page to a business page and spend $1000 what kind of results would I expect.

    Her IG is Aleksandraprice1989

    Thanks for any input

You can run shoutouts for on pages/profiles in fitness niche (You can find lots of people in this niche). $1000 is a good budget. Try to get pages with real followers and cheap shoutout price.

You can spend this budget on Instagram ads to increase your engagement and followers.
There is always a post that can go viral (Right content and picture).

You can double or triple your followers with that budget if you spend it well.

How much should I pay for a shoutout with real followers. Lots of fake followers in this industry

You can find a person within active real followers at $10 with 50k followers. But you need extensive search to find such pages.

Request for stats and check each post likes-to-comment ratio to other.

Not trying to steer him away from going this route, but has anyone noticed shout-outs aren't nearly as effective as they used to be?
    Yes they still work.
Yes a women fitness model will definitely get much better results then other content from a shout-out.
But I feel like everyone is doing shout-outs and its become quiet saturated & lacking the results most expect/hope for.

I agree. Once I saw an account with 4 million followers made a shoutout to a small account (I don't remember how many followers the small account had) and it didn't get more than 500 new followers.

For some accounts can be really better. But for more accounts not good what you want.

About similar results to what I see when I do shout-outs for people. I feel bad charging now a days because I know it won't convert well for them. So I only charge if it's clearly an advertisement for a product but try to give away free shout-outs for personal pages just looking for new followers.

I don't know anyone who's used IG ads to grow effectively. Does anyone know any different?

We paid $50 each for 2 shoutouts on @fit a page with 1.2 million followers. Got little to NO increase in followers with really good pictures. Shoutouts didn't work on that page but not saying that means anything

Brian, I wouldn't waste your money on shoutouts. They just don't have a high enough ROI. The only people that shoutouts make business sense to are the people that are selling them.

I would spend more time going through similar modeling pages as hers and using Iconosquare's Competitor section to analyze the posts with the most likes for each of those pages. You can select different time frames to do this: ever, in the last 30 days, in the last 3 months, etc. This will give you a good idea of which are the posts that people like the most, the ones that are likely to go more viral. Spend some time studying this. See what poses people like, settings, etc.

After that, just have her start imitating these posts. This works and we have been doing this to generate our own content for year. Because of certain reasons, people just engage more with certain posts. Find those posts and duplicate them with your wife. Some will work and some won't, but every time they do, you will get more followers out of it. Track your daily total likes graph on Iconosquare to make sure you're making progress. The more likes that you get, the more organic followers you will gain.

Also, vary your hashtags a lot and use the ones that are very relevant to the actual post. I also suggest that you post 5-7 times a day, including weekends. If you cannot generate content fast enough, mix in other viral, fitness related posts from other pages. Not every post has to be about her for your page to gain qualified, organic followers.

If you follow this for a while, you will grow and gain a lot more followers than if you paid for shoutouts or ads. Try it. Good luck.

Thanks for the information I just signed up for Iconosquare. I would love for you to look at my IG for your opinion. Seems like you are an expert. @aleksandraprice1989. We are changing the name at the end of the month after a few advertisement campaigns are finished. We are going with something simplier that we can brand on all the channels.

Hi Brian. I have been applying this stuff for years for my own businesses. This is not something that I do for others. I also collaborate with other friends all over the world who have businesses and do the same. I had looked at your wife's IG page earlier. That's why I suggested for you to do a study of other viral content out there, content that stands out completely on a quantitative basis above other content on the same page (for example, if a page on average gets 2000-3000 likes per picture and you see that on a particular picture it got 6000-10000+ likes). Imitate those pictures. Most people just take pictures that they think look good and should be posted. This is the impression that I get from your wife's page as well. What I'm saying is not to guess, but to verify what people are voting for (with likes) above everything else, then imitate it. With Iconosquare, you can also rank your own content and see what type of pictures, poses, etc. outrank all others. Eventually, you will start repeating what works and getting more likes and followers. Remember also to post more often. I say that the sweet spot is between 3 and 7 posts a day for the pages with high organic follower growth. I hope that helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot them my way.

IMO the content could be a lot better. The editing doesn't help. It just looks amateurish and bad. I'm just being honest. I would either invest in a photographer or buy a good dslr camera and learn photography.

I am managing a personal account as well and I can tell you it's quite hard to grow!
Tried a lot of common strategies, shouts and all, and wasted my money so I would really not advise that. Growing a personal is really different than growing a repost accounts, a lot of the standard strats plainly don't work.

So I was thinking the same thing as you, paid ads, was thinking about 400-500$ per month for starters. Same as you got the budget, but I'm a bit afraid of losing visibility if I turn my account to business and pay ads, a lot of people here are saying it's happening. But I'm sure it could provide some nice results with a good targeting.

I think he just meant look into maybe hiring a photographer or upgrading cameras to produce higher quality content.
If you want to get shoutouts maybe look into working with a local photographer off Instagram in exchange for exposure for them. They take professional photos and you tag them in your posts and/or they do the same on their profile. With the amount of followers you have there might be some photographers willing to do this trade.
High quality content will help attract more attention.

We are actually working with a couple of well known photographers now.
