Seriously, Spain is a place lots of guys laud and applaud.

Reasonable cost of living, great weather, English is fairly common and apparently easy to get in and out of.

I have been there at least 20+ times but that was back in the day and it was great.

Last week people were chilling on a beach and out of nowhere a craft with 60+ new "Europeans" arrived on the shore and this will continue.

I worked in Greece back in 2002 when it was actually still a cool country but Greece is one of the last countries in the EU I want to move to, our country has send billions to Greece and still they are almost bankrupt.

It's really a shame how Greece is doing, it has such a legendary past back in the days!

The people that was "smart" enough back to 1998-2004 to use the goverment and their political views(actually sell their political viw) managed to earn a lot for many years.Now everything falls apart.

I saw that video on some news site... not sure which but was amazed that people were heading toward the "craft" as opposed to going in a different direction.

Maybe I'm getting soft.

I would love to go to Poland, IF they leave the EU.

On topic: I would love to try and live and work in a country that is very different from (northern) EU. However, I also want the country to be safe and civilized. Japan look quite attractive in that regard or maybe South Korea depending on how the current situation develops. Taiwan should be okay too - at least I hear it's cheap.

I disagree but it's on the edge, I admit and I indeed don't want this to go politics. It's simple one of my reasons and don't want to go into too much detail about it

I definitely want to visit Japan too but I don't think you can just live there.

Live in the USA here, but... our current political situation is a problem. Two years ago, I spent a bunch of time in Albania on a project. Loved it. Stable and incredibly cheap. Like insanely cheap. Would consider that again.

Spain is a solid place to live, it's my first choice this side of the globe for sure. Btw that boat incident is extremely rare and it happened on a beach which borders Morocco, that's where they were from "morocco".. not Syria or Africa etc

But yeah Spain is great for many reasons, most of which BTB mentioned and a few others which favour the IM lifestyle.

However if I was OP - no responsibilities.. no kids, gf, property etc. I'd be away off to the thai islands, absolute paradise for a single man, great food, healthy lifestyle and cheap cost of living = keep stacking while spending literally fuck all, but still living a king!

Hungary has peaked my interest ATM, houses are crazy cheap compared to my country and I love the nature, houses outside the big cities come with a lot of land and as I love animals this would be great for me.

Only thing I find negative for me is that it's a hard language to learn and I don't know how far English will take me but I have at least 2 more years to decide

Hungary? I live here, but pretty much everyone wants to jump ship at least from the younger generation. I know a lot of people who went to Western EU to work and don't come back after that including my sister. Almost there's no family where at least one of the children didn't go to Western EU, which starts to fuck with economy, healthcare, there are already not enough workers in some areas.

That's how great it is to live here. I mean the country itself is nice, but the wages are low as fuck, which makes the people depressive, we are not a happy bunch, we are not friendly with each other. Most people can't afford shit here, they live day to day, prices are rising faster than the salaries, especially the prices of rent and property.
I'm not really a fan of the capital. Too much concrete and dog shit, too many arrogant people. Smaller cities with around 150-200k population like Pécs or Szeged are much more liveable.

If you're a fan of the countryside, there's a place called the "Hungarian Provence", it's on the Northern shore of Lake Balaton in "Káli-medence". That's really nice, the lake is near. A great place to live.

He slowly, but surely bought all the houses, he even relocated the gipsy families to nicer homes. It's a well recognizeable pattern that pensioners from Western EU buy property on the countryside.

A few years ago I was pissed of France, I found a job abroad as an expat in central europe, it was cheap. Now it's just fucking as expensive as France + healthcare sux (you could just die to go visiting a public hospital) + social insurance sux I've gave over 5 figures (and the first digit is far from "1") in taxes that I never and I'll never see (I won't get a penny for retirement for example).
Central Europe was cheap, now it's the same prices as western Europe but all the "Public" system sucks.
Took two years off my work and lived on my IM revenues, now I've started to looking for new contracts. Tried the USA with a E2 visa to work as a contractor, got a "no-no".
Iceland is my new target, but fuck, the long nights during the winter, I now understand why the suicide rate is so high.

Thats because they are poor, I will be earning a couple k a month passively and a couple more once I perfected PPC. I work voluntary in a community gym in the second biggest city in my country and I speak with many people from the East block and they work here to save for back home. They think it's better here but it's hard to find a proper job if you don't speak the language besides the shitty ones and once your in the system, you will pay high taxes on everything!

Healthcare costs €110 a month + another €385 a year and you only get basic shit, no dentist(dentist costs most expensive in the world), no nothing. Buying a small terraced house starts at min €150k and up and in the cities it usually starts from €250k and up and for that you get a small ass garden and a lot of neighbors.

I rent a small 1 bedroom apartment in the city €520 a month ex.

Electricity €90 a month, internet tv €45 a month, road tax €30 a month, gas €1,50 per liter, car insurance €75 a month.

And those are just the basic things of which every year increases. Tax 21%, income tax if you earn more than 60k a year you pay 52%!! They collect more than half of YOUR money! Then you got random taxes like water tax, garbage tax €350!! a year, dog tax, traffic fines are insanely high! Groceries are expensive, let's just say everything is expensive as fuck and they tax everything!

And the rules man, rules for fucking every little thing you can imagine.

So you can understand when you just start out and in the beginning you are only able to earn 1k, 2k in my country you can just survive while in some countries you are considered rich.

I read somewhere for example in Hungary the average salary is 100k forint? You can barely rent a very small room for that here and then you got all these other costs to understand my perspective.

I can assure you, economy will become better over there in the next ten years, more and more people from the west will go east.

Quality in southern France, Spain and Italy is going down too, the banks are struggling, unemployed level is rising and the countries are getting flooded with new "Europeans" which doesn't do the economy any good on the long term because there are already not enough jobs and due to automation more and more people get fired.

USA is hard. Marriage is the easiest way and I do know so women will struck a deal for fake marriage but if the government finds out you are fooked! To start a business you need to bring $500k and employ 15 Americans.

Heard about Iceland by others here, I don't mind long nights as I am a nightcrawler but I can imagine it's expensive over there as they have to import everything.

Also the cheapest cost of living in the EU. I'm from the UK but I've lived in Bulgaria for 10 years now. It's very cheap on almost everything. House prices from 2000 Euros for a run down building with land.
