I smoked daily for 10 years. When I was 14 I got into IM. I started smoking daily when I was about 18.
I was making about $3000-$6000 a week when I was 16-18 y/o. I started with friends but then started smoking at nights, by myself, on the computer doing IM at my parents house... blowing smoke out the window. Since I was making good money, it was easy to "coast" for a couple weeks. Eventually I distanced myself long enough I got distracted with other things in life. When the money ran out, the game changed enough, the work I was putting in just wasn't paying bills. By that time, I had a house, furniture, appliances, nice car, girl.... it wasn't as easy to just chill out at the PC for 12 hours because I had to hold a full-time job and take care of my belongings.
I've held an Engineering position for the last 8 years, smoking weed everyday. Smoke in the morning, at lunch, and on my way home, and then pretty much all night as I sat on the computer doing IM. Nearly everyday I would still workout right after work though. I'm still not making $3k-$6k a week again. About 6 months ago I decided to be fair to myself. I needed to experience my adult life without weed, even though I love it. I told myself if my life hasn't changed drastically by the time I'm 35, I'll start smoking again and probably wont ever quit.
So far, I can tell a difference. Nothing drastic has changed but my thought process and drive is different. Hopefully for the better but my life was great otherwise. I just wanted to be fair to myself. Its your life and your not a loser if you smoke pot. The person who said that is a narrow-minded fool who thinks his choice in life is the only path to success. Sorry if that was offending but your ignorance is offending as well.
Do what you feel right man. Life is good with or without weed.
