i agree, i don't need rel=sponsordNoFollow was good because we needed a function to differentiate between links, but we don't need rel="sponsored" only Google needs it.
Even use this plugin did your site hit by google ?I have been using rel="sponsored" in pretty link plugin even before the google update
Nah! My website is still growing very well without any problems.Even use this plugin did your site hit by google ?
I put my aff links as no-follow not rel="sponsored". Would you leave it alone as no-follow or change it?LOL Ill get right on this!
Here’s what Google recommends for each type of link:
- Affiliate links: Google asks sites participating in affiliate programs to qualify these links with rel=“sponsored”, regardless of whether these links were created manually or dynamically.
- Links from sponsored posts: Links that are advertisements or paid placements (commonly called paid links) are to be marked up with the rel=“sponsored” value.
- Links from guest posts: Links from guest posts are to be marked up with the rel=“nofollow” value.

There is a lot of contradiction here. If you read Amazon's "Associates Program Operating Agreement" point #5, it clearly states that you are not allowed to express any sponsorship between your website and Amazon. From the way I understand this, adding the rel="sponsored", as requested by Google, will be against Amazon's operating agreement!
Which side will we please?
I think the words misrepresent or embellish are for human eyes only. A sponsor tag is just a categorization, right? Only crawlers see it. So you aren't really misrepresenting or embellishing anything Imo.There is a lot of contradiction here. I understand your point, and it is definitely 100% logical. But keep in mind that what might seem logical to us, does not necessarily make it logical to Amazon/Google.Tagging Amazon links as sponsored doesn't mean you imply they sponsor you. Tell me you are joking that you believe sponsored tag is against Amazon rules because of this explanation.
I think that this time they are just trying to identify all affiliate sites and sponsored links... when their AI got all the info then they woldn't need anymore the webmasters to out rel info tags... same happened with the disavow... now google can know what links are good or bas departing from such info without you disavow them on your site.Hi,
Couldn't find a thread discussing this. If there is one, please delete this
