Hi all

Did a bit of searching previous but couldn't find an answer.

So I've dug up a 4 word search term in market samurai that gets over a thousand exact searches a day. Initial SEOC was close to 200k, so I would normally ignore it, but I was kinda intrigued as it was such a weird term to be an exact match.

Here is the results table for SEO Competiton:

I am hoping someone can confirm my thinking one way or another here.

Clearly there are a significant amount of backlinks here, along with some high PR's. However, not one of them has a single backlink that use the kw in the anchor text and none of them have the kw anywhere on-page.

If it is possible to grab the top spot, even if it took months, it would be very worth it considering the CPA offers that can accompany it payout $25 average.

So my question here and for anything like this I find in the future is:

How difficult/easy would it be to outrank pages of high PR and/or high BLP if the competition has no links using the keyword for anchor text and does not contain the keyword on-page anywhere?

(Thinking of the Ad*be @cr*bat "Click Here" keyword phenomenon whilst I write this)

Cheers

Anyone? Genuinely interested in some expertise that can put me straight on this and future keyword searches.

Give a man a fish/teach a man to fish theory I guess.

Ok let me give this my 2c

Looking at the MS image, you can definably see some places where you could try better the competition.
Look at how all of them are missing allot of basic SEO options for the keyword.

1. Get your domain (Keyword specific)
2. add Wordpress
3. Load all your plugins. check here -> http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...timate-collection-autoblogging-resources.html
4. Make Sure that you work the SEO plugin for your Keyword, especialy in the places where the others are failing.
5. Start Autoblogging for a day or 2 just to get some content on you blog
OR
5. Get Some Unique Content On your Page(Articles)
6. Use Market Samurai again, and in the SEO Competition screen add your site. This will Compare your site to the others.
7. Now if your SEO is complete and you are kicking the other pages with SEO
8. Load Your CPA onto the Blog.
9. If you want, Load adsense
10. Start Building Linkwheels and Backlinks. -> http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/member-downloads/66543-get-linkwheel.html
11. Search in Google for .edu and .gov blogs (There is a thread in here somewhere giving a detailed explanation on how to - "inurl:forums+site:.gov" or "inurl:blog+site:.edu")
12. Make Sure To Ping your Backlinks after every change.
13. Check Market Samurai again to See How You Are Comparing to the Competition
14. Eventually you will notice that You don't have to add your site manually anymore, cause you have hit the top 10.
15. Add More Content
16. Repeat 10 - 16

This should eventualy get you there.

Conan - thank you very much for your thorough response. Greatly appreciated.

I guess if this one is indeed possible, it is better seen as a long term investment rather than a google sniper jump-to-the-top-overnight type operation.

Again, much appreciated sir.

Seeing at the figure your keyword seems very competitive because when ranking for a keyword the Domain Age also matters. If your setting up a new domain it should get some time to rank.

Getting a targeted keyword domain is the most important part in On page optimization. If you can get the domain with your keyword on it and from time to go if you can get some good quality links that would do.

And otacon you prpbably should use the thanks button instead of saying thanks. I think you owe one to Conan. Best of luck !

Ravager - noted, corrected and much appreciated! =)

Interesting SEOC matrix! DA doesn't phase me too much, it normally doesn't seem to matter if you've got your onpage seo and anchor text links in order. Tons of high PR there, though. Also lots of links to the specific pages ranking for your target keyword phrase.

The most interesting thing is the site at position 6. More links than any other site. Listed on both directories. And a PR of 10! Why isn't that site in the number 1 position? Must be the quality of the links - both for it and for the other sites. If the links to the other sites are from higher PR, ******** sources and have anchor text that is somehow more relevant, they're probably considered more valuable by google.

I think if you can get a keyword rich domain, put some original keyword rich content on it. Get some good backlinks with the right anchor text from high pr, ******** sources - and make sure to get your onpage seo all set up, you can beat most - if not all - the sites.

Might be more of a longterm project than not, but doable with a bit of effort.
