A few years ago services like Animoto that could generate unique videos at the push of a button were all the rage.

Are services like this still an effective tool for this same intention? Or have they lost effectiveness because of overuse and over saturation of marketers?

Any thoughts or ideas on this would be appreciated greatly. Thank you in advance!

Services like Picovico or the one you mentioned did garner hype in 2014 but their actual large scale implementation is yet to happen. For e.g. Facebook just created 'year in flashback' of its users automatically from their album pictures. Such things can be easily done with video making API like Picovico. On the other hand, Animoto is good for its own targeted audience. The main point is that video marketing is yet to pick up pace in lots of parts of the world. Majority of the user generated content moved from texts to pictures in 2014. This trend will now shift to videos. So things are yet to happen in this field of technology.

Exactly. VideomakerFX is far more effective than Animoto. The usual slideshow kind of videos may not land you buyers these days. But if your intention is to create such videos, easiest one is still Animoto.

There are also some good tool except animoto such as VideoMakerFX, Go-animate etc, which gives you better and effective videos.
