Anchor Text Diversity Ideas

Pay attention people, great post, want to add some value to the BHW community? Get a HUGE list of these together....Shouldn't be hard with a little Scrapebox session either...

That exact formula was turned off a couple of months ago. Now they are clearly punishing for too much focused anchor text

I'm not sure its true, none of my sites were affected. And keyword diversity is not something I bothered myself with.

And I like take it even further and play with capital letters, e.g. Click here, Click Here, CLICK HERE, click here and so on.

It's an algorithm. Nothing is 100%. I've done split testing on a few dozen sites for this and it's true. I wrote about it on my personal blog 2 months ago based of a huge set of tests I did.

Yeah, I have read that, are you the author?. My M.Sc. was in Applied Math, and I get to perform a lot of statistical tests. What I didnt find in this article are the nuances, so I left the conclusions for another article (no offense here, mate, just stating my opinion on statistics).

That article contains no information about the data mining performed prior to testing. Thats the most important part, and I didn't find it there. As one of my investors once said: "spreadsheet can withstand anything", same applies to charts without explanation of how exactly the test was performed.

Nope I am not the author. But I did my own test too and I am 100% confident that he is correct about anchor variation. I run about 20 test websites at any given time in addition to a few of my personal sites and I've got about 30 clients sites going.

I believe I know what triggers the anchor diversity penalty but I'm not 100% confident on that yet so I'll keep it to myself.

To help me with my theory, if I may ask, what is the biggest monthly keyword exact search keyword you are using that has not had any diversity? Obviously this has to be the main keyword you are going after, not a secondary.

About how many total backlinks have you built to it?
 
This is a great thread...You could also use a meta tag analyzer on your URL and grab all the keywords and phrases.use these to link with.Create about 100 shortened url's and use these instead of your main domain.Blast the hell out of it with trackbacks until you get about 80/20 of generic keyword to money keyword...I'm going to try this and see what happens.

So should i use Anchor Text Diversity to my money site or to my 1st,2nd tier???

I generally use anchor diversity to my 2nd tiers. For the first tier I only use my main anchor.
 
So what's the twist with Penguin then as compared to Panda? An even heavier penalty for spammy backlinks? Love the thread by the way.
 
What can I say.. Is a nice post but (no offense for the OP since he have all the good will ) you must not be a rocket sentience to come up those anchor text.

And If you like do add link diversity why you do not go to G Adwords/ keyword instrument type your primary keyword (set correctly the location ) export the table you got and there is your link diversity.

P.S. Having an url that have those in it will help you more.
