Hello,

In looking at our Google Analytics, I keep seeing small amount (1-3 per month) or referal traffic from our competitors shopping cart.

We both sell the same types of products (online training) and use the same method of delivery as well as shopping cart provider.

When I visit the specific link, obviously there is no link back to our site. Can you help me figure out what is wrong? I just don't see it.....

Cheers,

Dave

He might have copied some parts of your work and forgot to remove a link reffering to your site. Best would be to register on his site and investigate.

Hello,

Thanks for the idea. There is really no logging on to his system. It does not require any user/password. Actually, he has had their site up for years and years and we have only been up for two. How do you think a link would be on there if it's not visible?

Cheers,

Dave

I had the same issue one time, I have an hot selling product and dominate over all keywords regarding this. One competitor tried to get above me and had a hidden backlink to my product on his site.
I found it when I checked the source code of his site, the link was hidden and not visible to the visitor. I think it has to do with onsite optimization, it is told that it helps to link to a authority site for the certain keyword.
I'd advise to check his source code from the page where you got the referrer from.
